8485 is right. We are going over old ground. The charter no longer requires the president be a Jesuit and while I don't recall the specific year, it was changed years ago. Only tradition is keeping the presidency in the Jesuit community at Holy Cross.

Tradition can be tough to overcome. At time its can even be more difficult than finding a way around an actual rule.

sader, On this board posters are continually complaining about HC 's losing records in all sports M&F with good reason. Was it no winning team in 15 months? Do you think that if HC had exciting, winning teams, so many students would be disinterested? I like to believe that if HC builds a winning team the students will come to the games. But, who knows? I don't intend to be confrontational as I am upset as I suspect you must be, too. Maybe, we are dinosaurs. LoveHC hey, dinosaurs ruled the earth much, much longer than humans have. so let's not knock a winning record!

If the next president of HC is not addressed as Father, which seems likely, I have no doubt Dr will be the proper way to address him or her.

IMO, the two schools that will continuing having Jesuits as Presidents are BC and Santa Clara, BC took over Weston Jesuit School of Theology. Santa Clara took over the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley. I can't see the Jesuits allowing those two schools with those affiliations being headed by anyone other than a Jesuit. Every other Jesuit college and university in the U.S. is fair game.

Actually, NAD could probably straighten the place out.☺️ I'd make '87 the AD and give him carte blanche to do as he sees fit with the direction of the athletic programs; without any restrictions. I'd think that would make most of the older fans happy tout suite.

Starting each field hockey contest with a crowd of 2,000 would definitely get us some national attention.

I thought VMII did as well, but apparently not. VMI does have a 13 page time management manual on how a student spends his/her time. www.vmi.edu/media/content-assets/documents/general-orders/GO1.pdf

I'm just seeing this for the first time today. I tried to take the survey, but got a message that it's closed. I wish I'd known it was out there!

I'm sorry. You have only yourself to blame. There is a cap at 100 responses. You must be on Crossports 24/7 if you really have an interest in Holy Cross athletics.

As AD (I like the sound of that btw ), I wouldn't make attendance mandatory but would hope to come close to replicating the atmosphere of the Hart in the 1970s and Fitton in the 1980s...both places students wanted to be at.

Mandatory Mass vs. mandatory football attendance. Well, I am sure my soul would benefit more from the former, butI clearly would "enjoy" the latter a great deal more.
