Great win for our Team, Coaches and Fans! The Hart was ROCKING! ! Let's keep it going tonight and take it to the Terriers! ! After tonight's game we have 2 tough road games at Lehigh and Colgate followed by the last game of the regular season at home against American on 3/2/2019. Then the fun begins! ! Our "Pick Leaders" missed a great opportunity to create some separation at the top with the top 5 all going 2 for 5! ! However, Ky Crusader 75 managed to creep up a spot by going 3 for 5! ! Not a good round of picking... 10 posters went 3 for 5, 10 posters went 2 for 5, 2 posters went 1 for 5 and 1 poster went 0 for 5! To repeat... "on any given night, any team can beat any other team"! ! Rank / Poster / 17-Feb / Total

I always enjoy picking teams in a semi-vacuum without benefit of seeing how they, especially Holy Cross, play the game before. That said, here goes:
Boston University @ Holy Cross (despite my saying I would not pick them the rest of the season. Think the extra adrenaline of a Turnpike Trophy game and playing at home will make a difference in a close game - yes the former comment is sarcastic) Bucknell @ Colgate (this is my upset pick and to differentiate from everyone else who will pick the obvious favorite) American @ Lafayette (this one could go either way but Fran knows how to beat Carmody and presumably Carm's protogee + home for Laffy) Army @ Lehigh (too much for Army) Navy @ Loyola (going with the Jesuit team)

As it stands now, Colgate would not be an upset pick. They will probably be a 3 pt. or so favorite, or more accurately, would be if the game were being played today.

Struggling for just the right response. Bunkum? Sandbagging? No, I leave that to others. Sandbagging is only useful if you're trying to get an edge in a bet, and I don't often wager. I'm just stating what takes place. The betting lines track the analytics very closely and have for a number of years now. Right now, Colgate and Bucknell are almost dead even in kenpom. Sagarin has Bucknell about a point and a half better than Colgate. But the game is at Colgate, which is worth roughly 3 points. If the game were being played today, Colgate would open up somewhere between -1.5 and -3. Now, of course, money wagered is going to drive the actual line at the tip. But go through the list of games some night on Vegas Insiders or some other site. What you will find is that very few games go off more than a point or two different from what kempom predicts.
I'm not saying Colgate should be a favorite or should not. I'm just saying they would be today and probably will be on Tuesday.

Holy Cross-- BU blasted HC 68-54 in the first game. HC had a horrendous rebounding game, grabbing only 3 of our 33 misses while Boston U got 12 of their 27 misses. HC made up for that a bit with 10 turnovers to 19 for BU. The net was that HC took 51 field goal attempts to BU's 52. Shooting is where the game broke down. BU went 11-20 on threes, by far its best percentage of the year, while HC was a mediocre 8-24. On twos BU was 16-32, no big deal, while HC shot a woeful 11-27= .407, its 4th worst percentage of the year. HC is 1-8 when it shoots below 50% on twos this season. Jehyve Floyd had perhaps his least productive game in years as he fouled out after playing a full 32 minutes but with only 4 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 turnovers. He did block 4 shots. He took only 4 shots, making 2, and was 0-1 from the line. Let's look for a big game from him at the Hart Center. Pat Benzan played well for HC as it seems he always does in hometown Boston/Cambridge games. HC's confidence must be high after the nice win over Bucknell.
Colgate-- Bucknell won the first game at Sojka on the free throw line. Bucknell is 7-0 at home and 4-3 on the road in PL play. Bison defense has been consistently good, e.g. holding the last 6 opponents below 48% eff fg pctg, but Bison 3 point shooting has been surprisingly weak. Sotos has fallen apart: 16-34= .471 on threes OOC but now 6-33= .182 in conference. Team is shooting .298 on threes in last 7 games (though 5-2 WL). Bucknell has not lost 2 consecutive PL games since Feb 2016. Bison are 7-0 at home and 4-3 on the road in PL while Colgate is 5-1 at home and 4-4 on the road. Colgate has won 4 in a row
Lafayette--This is a tough one, AU won the first game but it took OT to do so in DC. AU has won the last 5 in the series. AU is 5-3 at home and 2-4 on the road. Laf has built some momentum winning 4 in a row and was the underdog in each of those. Leopards were 40%+ in each of those games and we know how O'Hanlon likes to bomb away. Petrie is .494 on threes in PL play and Jaworski .557. American, however, has #1 3 PT Pctg defense in conference games.
Lehigh--Go to the window and bet with both hands. Lehigh is now 17-0 against teams ranked 171 or worse and Army is # 247. Lehigh won 75-70 at Christl
Loyola--another tough one but Navy is 1-5 on the road and Loyola is 3-4 at home (2-5 on road). Navy won by 3 at Annapolis.

I love when my dartboard and KY's computer come up with the same results. Or is he simply picking the same as me to maintain his lead on me?
