By the time this search is over, their new coach might turn out to be Sean Kearney.

What's the deal with John Thompson III? The guy did have pretty good success for the most part at Georgetown before flaming out his final couple years. I'm sure he would take the job in a heartbeat, and obviously knows the northeast and Big East in general. Plus, it would be funny to see a Thompson coaching in front of Louie Carnesseca. He would probably be a safer bet at this point than their Plan D, E, or F options, unless there is another hidden story with him that I am not aware of.

Funny Francesa commentary from Phil Mushnick in the NY Post this week:
He remains the self-anointed genius who is relentlessly, colossally wrong. Mike Francesa specifically noted two with no chance to win the Masters: Tiger Woods and Xander Schauffle. They finished 1, 2.

Hchoops, everything I have read on Twitter by many people in the basketball coaching community have been very complimentary about Tim Cluess and his family.
Why do you speak so poorly of him?

coaches who have negative comments do not post on social media past and current experiences--as to his character present coaching--ex. he could not figure out either our offense or D in our game this season he has won, but he takes many players.esp transfers, who were of questionable character

Those are numbers that Carmody (17 seasons and counting without a conference record above .500) could only dream of, but he is apparently a "great coach." Doesn't add up.

Fired by Arkansas, Mike Anderson, reported to get the St. John’s job Mike Anderson's playing and coaching career began in 1978. Since then, he has never coached or played for a basketball team outside of Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Alabama. Putting him in a difficult spot in Queens is an extraordinary display of incompetence by the St. John's AD. The candidate list should not have stretched longer than two names: Rick Pitino and Bobby Hurley.

Some minor Bucknell moves on the carousel:
1. John Griffin went to St. Joes last month as an assistant coach. Not clear yet if he will be the #1 or #2 assistant. 2. Joe Meehan was promoted from #3 to #2 assistant a few weeks ago. 3. Johnathan (J.B.) Brown was promoted from MOBO to #3 assistant coach a few weeks ago. Brown is the brother of Donald Brown. 4. Dom Hoffman, former Bison PF, was just hired as the new MOBO. He was a grad assistant at VCU the past two years. Nathan Davis has a number of ties to the VCU staff.

Reading the press release detailing 28 years of consistent winning, I would love to have been able to see if Andy would have had a better record than SK, MB and BC combined if HC had hired him to succeed RW. Instead we won three press conferences hands down.

Seems like a real grind to switch to the NBA at age 66. All those games and travel. Wonder how long he'll do it for.
