This showed up in my E-mail. It is from the Crusader Athletic Fund and at the bottom (not pasted) there is a link to make a donation. Not sure why I got this or how many others on this board got it, but if you care. . .
Dear Tom,
As the regular season comes to an end, our team is committed to the hard work and dedication required to compete each night in the Patriot League. Our players have been consistent in their daily efforts to develop both on and off of the court and have been relentless in their desire to improve as the season has progressed. While the results have not always been favorable, our players are resilient and compete with great enthusiasm.
Throughout the season there have been several great moments including winning the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip Off Tournament, a road victory at Iona in front of a large group of Holy Cross supporters and senior Jehyve Floyd’s game-saving block as time expired versus Canisius in the Hart Center. Winter Homecoming vs. Navy and last Saturday’s thrilling victory over Bucknell produced some of our best crowds this season, and we’re appreciative of the continued support from our alumni, parents and fans.
We will return home to the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex on Saturday, March 2. This game will mark the end of the Patriot League regular season and will allow us an opportunity to celebrate the careers of our four seniors - Patrick Benzan, Jehyve Floyd, Marcellis Perkins, and Matt Zignorski. Each of these four young men has made positive contributions to our program and the Holy Cross community during their time on the Hill. As freshmen, they were apart of the unforgettable experience of winning the Patriot League title and we hope to send them off into the real world on a high note. Jehyve Floyd is currently six blocks away from breaking Josh Sankes '01 single season blocks record of 69 total blocks. With three games remaining, we hope to celebrate this individual achievement and each of our seniors' careers with family and friends on Senior Day!
Thank you for your continued support and engagement in our program. I look forward to seeing you for our 12:05 p.m. tip on Saturday, March 2!
