Massey makes Lehigh a 6 point favorite (65-59) at Holy Cross with a 67% chance for the win. That big a spread is a bit of a surprise, especially with the way the Cross has been playing lately. However, Lehigh is on a 4 game winning streak (after losses to American, Bucknell and BU). Lehigh beat the Crusaders by 9 (64-55) back on January 9.

This game has a playoff feel to it. Love having M&W games to look forward to the next two nights. Just hope both teams are still playing when the first purple crocus pops up in the yard.

It may feel that way to you but the game is pretty insignificant - we are locked into the no.5 seed and will likely head to Bethlehem to play no.4 Lehigh in the quarterfinals. The only was that doesn't happen is if BU loses at home to 9th place Loyola 'and' Lehigh beats us.

In one way it's as inconsequential as a week seventeen against the Buffalo Bills when a bye and home field throughout have already been decided. On the other hand we have a fresh skipper at the helm, the team has been playing well and it's exciting to see how they will round out the season against good competition. Interesting to see if two dollar night will generate a decent crowd.

Other than the auto-bids, they rarely go much below #110 for invitees. Also HC has a really weak OOC schedule, which doesn't help. As for the WBI, there would be a chance for that one since it is pay-to-play and most teams aren't interested. Last year they took a number of teams ranked worse than 150 and some ranked worse than 200. But would HC have any interest in paying to play in a third-tier event against mediocre competition?

I hope not ! It's a long season and there's a lot of work to be done getting this program back on a firm footing, if you know what I mean.

I usually don't post here, but how is any postseason experience, no matter what tournament, a negative if a program hasn't had any for a long time? I'm not seeing how it would hurt.

I have to agree, NAD. If the coach and players want it, I see only positives coming from the experience...even if the positive is a list of things on which HC needs to work.

I'm with NAD on this one, as long as the players want to play, of course. In 2014 HC had just come off another heart breaking loss in the PLTC game vs Navy. They decided not to play in a minor national post season tournament IIRC. I certainly respected the decision, but this year HCWBB is a young team with a new interim coach and I feel an air of new beginning, fresh start, second wind, what have you, which may be all in my head. But, I suspect this team would like to enter and try to win a minor post season national tournament if they are invited and bring home some hardware, or at least hang another banner.

With the majority of this team back next season, the more games played is the most important thing for the future of the program. You got two freshmen on this team who have the ability to be all Patriot League players by the time they are seniors.

I agree with you, but...Wait! Didn't I read somewhere on CROSSPORTS earlier this year that, other than Mannis, there were no players on this team with D1 talent?

Ezemma has been so good since the middle of the year and AL has been hit or miss throughout the year but has the talent to be elite.

Tied at 37 at half. HC gets a lead, Lehigh comes back. Announcer says most likely these two teams will tee it up again in Bethlehem in the quarterfinals.

At 5'6", Avery just crashed the boards with a running start after a miss. In one motion while airborne she grabbed the rebound, put back a bank shot and got fouled for an old fashioned three point play. Nothing but net on the FT.

Down five in the fourth. Too many inaccurate heaves. Work it in to our twin towers.

More ashes on Lehigh Foreheads than HC foreheads. Given what’s transpired at HC the last few years, is HC even Catholic??

Too many I’ll advised forced passes into Manis down the stretch Gotta love LaBarbera - she’s a tough-minded point guard with a scoring touch - what a 3 from deep to force OT We’ll only go to BU on Monday if they lose tonight to Loyola
