Biggest winner in the game (and the whole tournament) was College Basketball. Two teams, no one and done "superstars" just great TEAM basketball. Teams led by upper-classmen. From the Round of 16 on this was one of the better tournaments I've seen. NCAA should be all over this but they won't. More interested in Zion dunking at the Duke rec center. Mostly agree but would have liked a mid major instead of Auburn Loyola of Chicago made last years final four very exciting

NM State "guy" misses 2 out of 3, down 2, with a second to go. Virginia Guy makes all 3. Auburn could have been sitting at home watching the last two weeks.

Maybe Kyle Guy’s great games, esp the semi, deserved the MOP, but Ty Jerome’s 16 points, 6 rebounds, team high 8 assists, inc the terrific baseline pass to Hunter for the tying 3 , 1 turnover and stellar defense has to be one of the best championship games, esp for a winner who did not receive MOP. Hunter could provide a convincing argument also. I would like to know how the voting went. in addition to their incredible defense, one of the reasons virginia was so good all year was the incredible offensive balance between jerome, guy, and hunter. precisely why the mop could have gone to any of the three. although hunter was the best defender on the team, if not the best defender in america. What was pointed out on by Kellogg or Raftery was that VA was taking way too long in the 4th quarter getting into their offense, probably biggest reason why the wrong people ended up with the ball. Similar to a team in purple, we all know and love; and why said team often ended up with a 5-10 guy with below average offensive skills with the ball with the shot clock winding down. All in all, as Bilas said after it was over, the game featured better-than-average offense against excellent defenses. Everyone thought the score would be in the 50s...and it ended up 68-68 end of regulation.

And for the game UVA still shot 45.8% on twos and threes, the highest TT allowed this season. In the second half UVA shot 52 % fg, 8-13 (62 %) on twos, 42 % on threes. not bad for a stalled offense
