This was a great story. It mentions all the UCONN greats I remember from growing up in the 70's including Doug Melody, whose wife Eileen is HC 85 and whose son Luke '16 was a star of the HC soccer team for the last four years.

You never know where you may hear about HC and Bob Cousy in VT. At dinner the other night I heard someone in a loud college basketball discussion saying that we would never see the likes of Cousy again (OK, I can agree with that one). But his reason was that a 5'10" guard would never be in the NBA today. I excused myself and explained that the Cooz was over 6 feet but they were a tough crowd to convince.

These so called fans could not have known much about the NBA or the Celtics, whose leading scorer was 5'9"(generous) Isaiah Thomas

We have a picture of Cousy that my son had taken with him when he was editor-in-chief of "The Crusader" and did a 2-part interview session.
Taken in the late 90's and allowing for age-shrinkage, Cousy was obviously even then over 6 feet tall. I think he may have been a true 6'1" as the Holy Cross elongater was not created yet.

I'm 6' tall. I walked next to Cooz years ago and he was at least an inch taller.
