Just saw that the ncaa is considering moving the 3 pt line back effective next season - I agree 100 pct as it’s just become too easy of a shot with such a high reward

I wish the international line would just be universal.
Right now we have 4 lines:
1) HS and under 2) College 3) International 4) NBA
For a short stretch between 2009 and 2012-ish, the men's and womens NCAA lines were separate.

The NBA. Certainly does not need a shorter line

The fact that the NBA line is not a perfect semi-circle has always bothered me...

Hard to do unless they widen the court

The fact that the NBA line is not a perfect semi-circle has always bothered me... The international arc is also not a perfect semi-circle, for the reason Hoops points out above.

No matter where they move the line, the guys will be drilling hard in the off-season to make the necessary defensive adjustment . . .

We were 6th in 3 point attempts and 4th in 3 pt FG % in the PL In league games we were 8th in attempts and 5th in %

Should be NBA distance minimum.
If I were the rule maker I'd get rid of it completely.

Should be NBA distance minimum. Every court would have to be made wider

It’s a good thing Carmody is building a roster that can defend inside the 3 point line! Oh wait....

Hard to do unless they widen the court How many feet wider, two (one on each side) or more than that? Have to agree, the three in the NBA from the corner is pretty much the same as the college shot. I wouldn't think widening the court in an NBA arena would be that difficult given that most seats that close are removable (as the venues are in almost all cases hockey rinks too).

So that's going to be the case in 2019-20, right...two different lines? Or is the women's line moving too, article doesn't clarify that.

The HS line should be the same as college Maybe, just maybe, that would lessen the number of HS players who are 3 point takers, not makers

The 3pt'er has completely changed the sport at every level...not for the better imo...needs to be a much tougher shot to make than it is today., particularly in college and hs.

You can't take 100 stretches on the rack every day to become a taller player but you can take 100 three point shots in the driveway every day and move past a teammate who isn't putting in the work. So the 3 point line is a bit if an equalizer in that respect.

Columbia and Fordham played a game in 1945 using a 21 foot 3 point line as a test but the rule wasn't adopted. A league like the PL could test a no 3 pt. rule by having the first swing through the league be no 3 pt., and then revert to the norm.

That is an interesting thought. A hot 3-point shooter can dominate a game but it is not as exciting as a team that has good execution in the paint, IMHO. I will root for HC regardless of the rule. I abandoned the NBA when the rules became "suggestions" and they no longer applied to all players equally. I will stand by HC basketball regardless of rule changes and will look forward to seeing whatever product they put out on the floor. Clearly, I use purple lenses.
