True, but I believe the Giants still carry that in their "official" name.

E. Rutherford is still the NY metro area..........so the name stays........not a concern to me here in northern nj.......

E. Rutherford is still the NY metro area..........so the name stays........not a concern to me here in northern nj....... And, by that logic, New York City is in the Bergen County, NJ area. I agree it is not major point, but Paterson and the rest of NJ's founding fathers would not have been pleased that you think of NJ cities as somehow part of New York. If North Jersey is part of the NY Metro area and South Jersey is part of the Philadelphia Metro area, I guess this state does not really exist.

Regional identification can mean different things to different people... IRC when I was on the Worcester Airport Commission we discussed renaming it. Among the ideas considered in a public meeting was "Worcester/MetroWest". A reporter from the MetroWest Daily in Framingham called and insinuated that Worcester had a lot of nerve.trying to appropriate the area west of Boston for marketing purposes. A well know Worcester talk show thought it was ridiculous because it took away from the city's identity. In the end we went with Worcester Regional Airport, then owned by the city. The airport is now owned and operated by MassPort in Boston which also operates Hanscom Field in Lincoln-Concord.. .

Never said nj is "part" of ny..........just that e Rutherford is in the ny metro area..........send the Maras a letter......maybe you can convince them.

That was tried. There were caps with an NJ in place of the NY and in Giant Red and Blue. The team threatened to sue. I guess they feel it is worth the effort now that the NY Football GIants are again a team that has some value.
