If he moves forward in this coming season he will be formidable, indeed. It will be great to see what he can do with a different O/D strategy, e.g. pursuing rebounds

Are there any returning players who may still have lingering injury issues?

NAD, for your edification, here is what a real Tasmanian Devil looks like from our visit down under: They don't look at all like the Looney-Tunes character and really very cute looking. However, they can literally break rocks with their jaws and eat bones and think nothing of eating carcasses of their own kind. We didn't hear them howling as they are basically nocturnal but the prisoners on Tasmania heard them and helped ensure they wouldn't escape as the guards encouraged their nightmares from the God-awful sounds. Maybe the ears look a little like Austin's?

ab is definitely one hell of a tough kid. it was frustrating reading all of the criticism of him last year (albeit from a vocal few) knowing that he was playing through an injury that was kept pretty quiet. expect a big season from him next year.

Even as HC struggled in the PL Conference games, AB's production increased as he put the injuries behind him. Yes, he is going to have one hell of a year in 2019-2020. The shooting and all around play are great but I am looking forward in particular to seeing what he can do on a team that values rebounding. I think we'll see him ripping a few at-large balls away from opponents under both baskets.

I see his game benefitting the most from this change and agree he could have a big season offensively and rebounding on both ends of the floor.

Austin's style of play is what coach Nelson described today as how his teams will play...Austin will be a leader on this team, and I agree with efg72 that he will benefit greatly with the new style......

Very nice. Here's the best part: "Butler said he is excited to play for Nelson." Now, AB, talk to Caleb and Jacob!

I think AB had a nice year but I wouldn't get carried away with the injury having a major impact on his season. His shooting stats were much better this year with 3 point accuracy increasing by 7% over the prior year. I'm sure there were issues that needed to be cleaned up but I also watched him heave up half court shots when he was leaving the floor after pre game warm ups, doubt he would be doing that if he was severely impacted by the injury. That being said with the uncertain status of Green and Grandison he's the man going into next year.

That being said with the uncertain status of Green and Grandison he's the man going into next year. Even if the roster remained unchanged he would be my choice for captain and the leader of the team-by far and away the best player on the team. He has his weaknesses but far fewer than the two we are concerned about given the philosophy and approach BN is putting forward This is time to hit the refresh button and realize this is a new beginning. Next year will be uneven and have ugly moments, but by tournament time the authenticity and energy we saw today will be reflected by the team and AB will be central to the effort. The freshman have a great opportunity to be part of a major transformation.
