Looking at other posts, it seems there are some already forming: In no special order:
What style of offense do you want HC to play?...defensive system? How important is defensive to you? What are your thoughts after meeting the current HC players? Have you spoken to current HC recruits? What most impressed you about Holy Cross (why did you decide to take this head coach position?)?
Feel free to add to this initial list.

1. What is your defensive philosophy (preferred approach)? Man-to-man or zone? Aggressive (traps, presses) or stay-at-home in the half-court?
2. What is your rebounding philosophy? Aggressive on the O-boards? Protective on the D-boards? How do your defensive and rebounding strategies mesh?
3. You have the reputation of being a "shooter's coach." Is that primarily what you look for when recruiting? Name three things other than shooting the ball that you think are most important when evaluating recruits.
4. When you assemble a staff, are you looking for assistants who will re-enforce your approach, or those who will complement your strengths?
5. Do you utilize advanced statistical data (e.g., Pomeroy) in pre-game preparation and/or post-game evaluation?

Good questions all. Suggest you guys forward them to Jen Tolland as I suspect that they won't be taking questions from the peanut gallery.
If my plans allow, I hope to join some of the other posters at the press conference.

Does anyone know if the press conference will be streamed?

He has worked on a lot of staffs with first year head coaches. One question would be:
Without naming names, what’s one thing you have seen a first year head coach do that just didn’t work?

What did you know about Holy Cross — the school and basketball program — prior to becoming interested in the job?

While I shouldn't say this based on how things have been run lately atop Mt. St. James, I would (should?) be shocked if it was not live-streamed. My hope is to obviate this by being there live and in person since I had to miss the Blossom intro. I am sure we'll see something shortly.

P.S. I passed along the above questions via email to Jen Tolland as I don't think the Crossports faithful in attendance will be permitted to ask questions.
Let's see if she uses any/some of them.

What were your first tasks after being hired? Have you met all the players and contacted current recruits?
For a prior hire, there was a week that passed between hiring and when that coach met existing players and several transferred. It would be a good way to learn more about Coach Nelson and how passionate and committed he is to the position.

I wonder if somebody has procured a small can of Pledge and polished the scratches on the wooden podium that was used for Marcus Blossom's introduction. It looked incongruent to have all the speakers being streamed from a brand new conference room but standing behind an older scratched up wooden podium that was front and center on the viewer's screen. I'll say there is a 60% chance the scratches have been removed or there is a different podium or set-up for the speakers and a 40% chance it will be the same scratches that draw the eye of the viewer. Either way I'll still be a fan.

I was surprised they did not use the lucite podium with the shield that is displayed in the picture for the Bill Doran Auditorium. Hope someone will pass along the suggestion to Charles Bare and the facilities crew. spark.adobe.com/page/rEk1Kq4MmJoMl/

I'm looking at the coach to see what he has to say, who cares what the podium looks like.

As far as G and G go, don't be surprised if BN* gives it the full Belichick and says absolutely nothing about them.
*Is BN the accepted abbreviation..or CBN?

"BN" is fine with me. Even I won't get it mixed up with Barnes & Noble.

Given the adversity the program has faced over the past 10 years, the construction of the current roster, and the landscape of the PL competition, what do you consider to be a "successful" 2019-2020 season?

Respectfully, this is the first time I’ve heard this about Carmody and frankly I don’t believe it. The FIRST thing a coach does after signing his contract ( prior to any press release ) is meet with the team ( call them individually if some are not on campus ) and then contact the recruits....in that order. If Carmody didn’t do this it HAD to be for a very very acceptable reason and cleared by Nate Pine. Was this posted on this forum within 10 days or so of Carmody’s intro press conference? If so, this would have been a major item of discussion....was it ?

I don't remember any discussion like this, and I agree that it would have come out if this were the case. In fact I recall Carmody talking about how he ran into Malachi Alexander shooting in Hart when he first came to campus.
Further, there weren't "several" transfers when Carmody arrived. (Just Hahn from the returning players, right?). Almost makes me think crosspride is talking about some other "prior hire".

A basic question I just posed in another thread: How long is Nelson's contract?

Is the schedule finalized or will BN be looking to fill some dates?
We may be seeing Bryant and Central Connecticut on the schedule in the next few years?

I think expectations will be low for BN over the next few years, and wins are going to be hard to come by. He needs to set up the schedule against teams we should probably beat even if HC has a weak team.

Hahn was rumored gone before the season even ended. More than once iirc. Pretty sure it was a done deal before Carmody arrived.
