True from a source who was on the team then. Had nothing to do with Carmody or Holy Cross or Milan's termination. He wanted to go back home and never felt comfortable. He was gone even if Milan stayed.

I think expectations will be low for BN over the next few years, and wins are going to be hard to come by. He needs to set up the schedule against teams we should probably beat even if HC has a weak team. Agree lower expectations are likely, especially if the team has the two departures, but I would think scheduling up beginning in 20 and not down makes more sense. It should help develop the current roster and attract future talent. Also if the team doesn’t win the games you suggest are winnable, it can be more destructive and delay those steps forward. After the top 75 or so I think the margin of error to get a W frequently comes down to a few key possessions.

This could be a question for the presser, since we're in the right thread already: "What's your scheduling philosophy?"

What can you do that Sean Kearney, Milan Brown and Bill Carmody couldn't do while trying to make HC a consistent winner?
Have you met Ann McDermott?

The Crusaders played very well against the OOC schedule and it wasn't a cream puff schedule I don't believe. What we can hope for is to have the team playing well and fully implementing BN's system by PLT time.

Yes-- assuming we put whole new O & D in place we should have the opposite trajectory from last year: i.e. we should play much better in conference play than in OOC. One nice thing: our PL opponents will have to do a whole lot more scouting of HC

Questions . . . With the July live period about to begin, will you personally be on the recruiting trail this week? Where do you plan to go? Do you have your staff in place to assist with recruiting? If not, when do you think you will?

I don't believe in scheduling down, recruits want to play against the best, schedule as many top 50 teams that have open dates.

I hope all of you who keep posting questions realize few of them will be asked at the press conference and don’t come away disappointed when you don’t have answers tomorrow.
Perhaps we’ll be fortunate and Charles Bare has read the thread and will work with Brett Nelson to incorporate answers to some of them in his prepared remarks.

8485, That would work for me. I would hope a coach would want to address the questions his new fans may have.

I think somebody forwarded a few questions to Jen Toland to ask. Maybe she will, maybe she won't. Won't bother me much one way or the other.
This presser is, first and foremost, a marketing event, and as such will stress things insubstantial. We'll figure things out as we go along, I'm sure.

I would definitely expect "how long a contract?" to be covered. Not a stretch to think something about staff and how it affects this recruiting period to be covered.
Under normal circumstances I would expect something very generic about contacting the team and recruits. If word is out that the info on Green and Grandison has been leaked, that topic might not be covered. The school presumably has access to the transfer portal and might not be scouring twitter like we do, and thus might not be aware that the word is out
I see zero chance of a substantive answer about style of play

If anybody at HC who cares is not aware of Green and Grandi current status, we're in big trouble

I would be very surprised if the school does not know that the transfers are public.

I'm assuming questions will be limited, questions that are asked will probably be vetted by the school in advance, Green / Grandison will be off limits, and Bare will have run questions by Nelson in advance so he knows what's coming.
Jen Toland will be the only member of the media in the Bud Ryan room, or whoever this is being held.

Hahn was rumored gone before the season even ended. More than once iirc. Pretty sure it was a done deal before Carmody arrived. I don't think so

Jen Toland will be the only member of the media in the Bud Ryan room, or whoever this is being held. If form holds from Marcus Blossom's press conference, Andy Lacombe and/or Kevin Shea from Charter TV3 will be there and will ask a question or 2. I simply posted earlier because there are an awful lot of very specific questions here that are not likely to be asked nor answered in an introductory press conference and I didn't know who folks thought were going to ask all these question. I don't think Jen Toland or Kevin Shea will be given/told questions to ask, but they also know this is their beat and if they want a to develop relationships with those they cover and will cover, really tough questions at an introductory press conference will not get the relationship off on the right foot. So ... questions on staff, style of play, general recruiting plans, including in PL with the academic index are probably on the table. Transfer updates, schedule detail, recruiting detail (i.e., what criteria do you use to evaluate recruits), not so much.

Didn’t we have some success years ago with a coach or two answering “20 questions” that we submitted in writing? Should we give that another try?
If so—-maybe in the Fall?
