timholycross Apparently, Cosbie got into 11 games for HC in ‘74 with one catch for 6 yds. However, if you consider an “alum” a graduate, then my post is accurate. If you consider an “alum” either an attendee or a graduate, then the Fenerty portion of my post is still accurate but the Osmanski portion is not (since Cosbie scored 3 playoff TDs in the early ‘80s). I have kiddingly had the same discussion with one of my partners who claims alum status at TOSU (ugh!) despite attending there for several years and subsequently graduating from Western Michigan. He looked in several dictionaries and one or more support the graduate only definition and one or more support the attendee or graduate definition. For my part, I’ll stick with the graduate only definition or consider my post modified by changing “alum” to “graduate”. Either one is fine. "player" would not have been; surprised it was 1974 he played; how on earth did anyone from California get to HC in the Ed Doherty era, one not known for its recruiting prowess? Always figured he was a Wheelwright guy.

Yahoooooooo! Kalif in the AFC Championship game. Really wish I could have seen Pat Shurmur’s face while watching that TD. “Ohhh, that’s what it looks like when that guy gets wide open and the QB throws it to him.”

So he is on to the AFC championship game the dream continues Hooefully this comment isn't akin to talking about a no-hitter in the 7th inning...but we are two games away from a pair of Crusaders simultaneously holding an O'Brien and a Lombardi Trophy.

Congrats to Kalif! First TD by a Holy Cross alum in an NFL game since 1991 (Gill Fenerty) and in an NFL playoff game since 1940 (Bill Osmanski of the Bears vs. Washington). Just catching up on this thread, but Kalif did catch a TD earlier in the season

Ky Thanks for the correction. Let’s hope Kalif keeps his fine play going next week and then, hopefully, in the Super Bowl.

Just catching up on this thread, but Kalif did catch a TD earlier in the season The two TD catches were almost mirror images. Kalif was the Titans leading receiver; one target, one catch, one TD, and about half the total receiving yards.

Amazing how easy he made that route look, with the deft deke in full stride......DB must have pooped himself once he realized what had happened.

On one play, Kalif had 3x more receiving yards than his next closest teammate and 5x more than his next closest WR teammate.
Raymond - 45 yards Pruitt (TE) - 15 yards Smith (TE) - 12 yards AJ Brown (WR) - 9 yards

I assume next week’s opponent will do whatever they can to stop Henry who has been ridiculous in the playoffs so far. Should create some more big-play opportunities for Kalif and his receiving mates.

It looks as if that was the game plan last night—pass early to present the threat, esp Kalif. Then run Henry, Henry, Henry. A JImmy Brown type performance.

Still waiting for someone on the CBS telecast to mention the HC connection. And the 5 year struggle to get a permanent roster spot. Did anyone see if it was mentioned on Sportscenter on ESON ?

That's a classy move by Nashville, renaming the team after a famous Italian painter......
