It has been 14 with both Massey and Bassett since before the first game. Yale does have an experienced team, but they are still being rated on last season. This year's squad, in their first game, is still a question mark. However, look at our series record against Yale. Despite some big HC wins (a few, including last year) Yale typically has not had much trouble with HC in most years.

rgs - Great research on your part as usual. Although, I don't follow the line, 2 TD's seems like a large point spread to me. Clearly, the bettors don't think it's gonna' be close. 131/2 would have been a lot more reassuring for me. The upset will be all the sweeter. Beat Yale. LoveHC Taking HC and 14 points is a no brainer imo.

I am surprised that neither Massey nor Bassett has backed off much from their initial 14 point spread. In this case, if they were looking at last year for Yale, our win over them I would have thought would count for something of a close score.
Currently: Massey = Yale 33 / Holy Cross 21 Bassett = Yale 38.5 / Holy Cross 24.5

both polls probably weigh the returning players far more heavily than last season's head to head result we returned almost 0 QB experience as well as losing key WRs and LBs Yale has many returning quality players

Bear in mind point spreads are not expected margins of victory/loss. They are #'s generated to an get equal amount of action on each side.
