I too was disappointed to see that Aly Spencer is no longer on the roster. Perhaps Junior Year Abroad?

Using Google search, don't see mention of her transferring. If the coach who recruited you leaves, can you transfer without penalty? Having joined and forgotten my Facebook pw eons ago, I can't see if there is any info on Facebook.

Another possibility is that she suffered an injury off-season, which has sidelined her this fall.

However in most sports, including soccer, there is no penalty when you transfer as long as you have the permission of the school you are leaving.

I don't think Aly has transferred. Her stats did come way down last year after a tremendous first season so maybe she did have a physical issue. She's either going abroad or has decided not to play soccer anymore for some reason.

UMass is the next opponent (Monday). They won their two exhibition games on the road outscoring opponents 5-1. They beat Vermont (2-1) and Hofstra (3-0). HC will be their regular season opener.
August 19, 2016 - From the UMass site: The 2016 season officially gets underway this Monday, August 22 as the UMass women's soccer team heads to Holy Cross for a 4 p.m. kickoff. The match will be held at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium on the Holy Cross campus with free admission. Live stats and streaming video will be available for fans to follow the action.
The Minutewomen will return the bulk of their offense in 2016 including the trio of top point producers in Megan Burke (3g, 2a), Erin Doster (3g, 2a) and Julia Weithofer (2g, 4a). Defensively, UMass will look to replace the services of Rebekka Sverrisdottir and fellow seniors Madison Smith and Georgia Gibson on the back row. Redshirt junior Jenny Scro will return to that defensive back after missing all but three games last year due to injury. UMass will also return starting keeper Cassidy Babin who finished the 2015 season with a 0.99 goals-against-average, a .793 save percentage, and six shutouts.
UMass had a pair of strong preseason exhibition matches with a 2-1 win at Vermont and a 3-0 win at Hofstra. In the win over the Catamounts, Alyssa Fratarcangeli and freshman Emily Zwierzchowski each came away with goals. Weithofer had a pair of goals, while freshman Rebeca Frisk had the other against the Pride.

2-1 14 mins or so You are never really sure in soccer extra time is so nebulous.they never give the seconds left The NCAA has some rules which differ from international rules---including the fact that they actually stop the clock when it needs to be stopped so there is no extra time. This applies under NFHS rules, too. At least the colleges use three officials. The worst rule issue is going to high school games with two referees (older, retired overweight guys frequently) who cannot get up and down the field and are unable to tell if an attacker is onside when the ball is played. Cross is 1-0. Gotta like it.

Then they are well ahead of the international game. But soccer's greatest flaw is deciding championships with shoot outs ridiculous it is like deciding basketball games with a foul shooting contest. but free throws are more of an integral part of the game than penalty shots are to a soccer hame
