Got a #13 seed and a bad draw against Arkansas in the NCAA Tourney. I was a Jr when those guys were Seniors. All 5 of them are truly great players and great guys as well. Still keep in touch with a few of them - same great guys. Was fun to watch them back then.

Breslin, Mashburn, and Powell are all local and kind of active with HC Hoops Last I knew Farkus was in Ohio. I have no clue where Billy Walker wound up

Bill is in the DC area with his son and daughter. His wonderful wife, Dana, recently passed away. His dad and I worked together for Upjohn and I have known Bill since his sophomore year in HS

Davis gym and bison 137 will correct me if I'm wrong, which still exists and is at least close to if not connected to Sojka Pavillion and their swimming facility. Believe it's used for volleyball & wrestling

Game was never in doubt. Destroyed them. And less than 2 weeks earlier they blew our guys out in that same barn. Made this so much sweeter.

Saw this tweet this morning. Put a smile on my face. Bill Walker even commented on it.
Relevance to today's team: have we had any Michigan-based players between then and now? (Walker was from Michigan.)

If I remember correctly, Bill Walker was a high school teammate of Derek Jeter.

Still keep in touch with a few of them - same great guys. Was fun to watch them back then. That was the start of the "40 minutes of Hell" team Nolan Richardson had a Arkansas. Arkansas won the National Champion the next year. They beat both Georgetown and Duke in 1994 to win the National Championship. IIRC Billy Packer was the color commentator of the HC/Arkansas game and was not very complimentary of HC

Packer disparaged any team that was not in one of the power conferences he covered all season Insufferable I may have related this small anecdote before. Some years ago a friend was in Lansing at a hotel and ran into Packer and Verne Lundquist. My friend asked the innocuous question: "Oh are you here to cover a Michigan State game?" He said that Lundquist then engaged with him in a friendly way while Packer said not a word and looked down his nose at him as if he were a leper.

Packer also mocked Ted Bettencourt's Mass Gatorade Player of the Year award during the garbage time of the game. A real tool. I do seem to remember (with glee) a story of him getting stonewalled trying to walk in to a Duke women's game without paying (or something like that; a "do you know who I am" kind of moment). Again, a huge tool.

I didn't know that Packer's father Tony was the head coach at Lehigh for many years.
