Memory is a problem with me as well... but I'm sure I went to a playoff game at Fitton against Western Carolina and The Thrill either DNP'd or was ineffective due to injury. It was a sunny but cold and blustery day and Fitton was nearly empty. Different times but that WC crowd of 13K+ at Fitton would have been by far our largest home crowd this year. Not a knock on our support....world we live in today. That game rivaled, but didn't exceed, the blistering cold of the famed 73 Syracuse game as well.. Notre Dame's 46 year home sell-out streak ending confirms that this is a different world for CFB attendance. Maine at Fitton would hopefully push attendance into five figures, however. The potato harvest is over and Mainiacs love their Black Bears.

Worcester to Orono: 271 miles. Worcester to Philly: 282 miles.
Local HC fans within a reasonable drive of either Villanova or UMaine: advantage Villanova

I'll be concerned with this dilemma if/when we beat Georgetown and if/when Lehigh beats Lafayette.
We lose and Laffy wins, we stay home post season despite a tie for first.

Yeah, win first, plus there's no way of knowing how the seedings will play out.
I do doubt any second place MEAC or SWAC team will be selected as an at large. Those conferences don't get to automatically send their runner ups.

My concern is if the staff and team are focused on what if’s like this Board puts forward, our season will end next Saturday
Given where we have been the past two decades this Board should be entirely enthusiastic, positive and hopeful about the entire season. While a few games have been a struggle, the overall improvement from two years ago (last year and this year) should have people cheering!
For the responses that pop up about this football season and the staff, I am beginning to wonder how many posters realize what it takes to turn around a program. Unlike other sports you need a minimum of 25 plus talented players, a coaching staff, and Administration committed to winning. In basketball or baseball two or three players can create immediate change.
Everybody should be proud of the progress the team and coaching staff have made the past two seasons. Is it perfect -not even close, but I am willing to bet significant funds if anybody on the board was coaching this team we would have fewer than six wins
Let’s win this weekend and then collectively do what is necessary to help the team move to the next level.

HC-Maine game would almost definitely be in Orono That Maine v UNH final game Saturday at UNH is important for both teams and sure to be hard fought. UNH needs a W to finish over .500 (6-5) and they may be able to convince themselves that a win might give them a ( very) slim avenue to the playoffs . Maine's only hope (IMHO) to get in is with a win. If Maine loses, they are 6-6. FWIW Massey's got UNH at 27 and Maine at 18. Fun Fact: Both UNH and Maine feature true frosh QBs. (There are other CAA games with playoff implications also so there are a lot of moving parts as the CAA wraps things up and 3, 4, or 5 teams head to the playoffs)

I think the message was sent after the Lafayette loss. Team was looking ahead. IMO this team is WAY ahead of what coaches were expecting. League champs in the second year of a rebuild is remarkable. Future is bright. Barring anything stunning HC should be the PL favorite for the next few years and beyond. Disclaimer that this is a young team...game still needs to be played. Best of luck to the Crusaders. Exciting times.

My recollection is that Fenerty did not play due to injury. I believe his replacement (McMurtry?) had a 32-yard TD run in the 2nd quarter. I think game was tied at 21-21 in the third quarter or early 4th quarter, and WC scored the winning TD later in the fourth quarter.

Any chance we get a home game?
If not, hope I don't have to travel to far......
Should be a northeast bracket or region to send a team to the final four. East gets no credit because of the dumb Ivy League!!!!!!
IVY LEAGUE BEAT EVERYBODY AND BE RANKED BUT WONT GO TO THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!
LOSES AGAINST THEM SHOULDN'T HURT YOUR FCS RANKING NOR SHOULD FBS LOSES.

Playoffs are very regional and teams in the CAA/Patriot/NEC footprint will go through one another in early rounds. Not really understanding your point regarding the Ivy League but I would say that wins over top Ivies would usually be rewarded in the rankings by knowledgeable FCS beat writers.

They are not making the playoffs with 6 Division I wins. And I'm sorry, Holy Cross even as the PL auto-qualifier, would be considered a "bad loss" for an at-large contender. 7-4 I think they were in, 6-5 nope. UNH-Maine is a big rivarly game so still could go either way. I don't think the Wildcats lay down in this one.

So you're saying HC is guaranteed to be at least Patriot League co-champions in the second year of a rebuilding effort and that is the worst case possible? I don't mind the speculating because I don't think Georgetown will print out any comments from anonymous posters and pin them to a bulletin board like some pro teams do when a real player makes a foolish statement. As long as word doesn't leak of the planned parade in Worcester before next Saturday we should be OK.☺️
