Don't know if previous offers to Ava Owens 5'11" guard or Aaliyah Forman, 5-10 G/F are still in effect as they received them for '20 and both reclassified to '21 and transferred to St Andrews, RI

Nice to see them posing by the Cooz statue. I'll bet that, as solid players, they even know who he is!

In my day when you got reclassified it meant you were being held back and it wasn't a positive.☺️
I guess reclassification is an attempt to schedule the four years of college eligibility to coincide with four years of increased physical maturity and skill level development. Is this a PL/IL response to the non-injury red shirt availability in other conferences, or are other conferences using both techniques to schedule an Athlete's fourth year of eligibility SIX years after traditional HS graduation?

I doubt it has much to do w/ PL/I other than indirectly.. Likely due to one of 2 factors, attempt to improve on academic standing or more likely to get offers from higher leagues

Good athletes leave their town high schools and reclassify upon arrival at a prep school very frequently. Based only on anecdotal info, I would say it’s more common than not to reclassify when an athlete who wants to play in college transfers to a prep school after his or her first or second year of high school. The post-grad year is another way to accomplish the same purpose. These same kids can still take a non-medical redshirt for their first year in college outside of the PL and IL.

When a staff changes, what is usually honored besides a signed LOI, which clearly must be?

The status of her offer is under review. What does that mean? It means the McInerney coaching staff offeree will be given equal consideration with every other '21 basketball player in the country and world by the Magarity coaching staff. In actuality, the young lady will be probably be contacted and treated very graciously. She probably has a leg up on other prospects with similar skills. Why reinvent the wheel and do a ton of extra work just to say a recruit is 100% your recruit, if you've got one in the pipeline who fits the bill and is pre-sold on the college by the previous coaches?

HC hoops is right that we can forget AAU this summer - Coach Mo better be hustling with her contacts from her UNH days and those that our HC staff has been making - if there’s no additions to this year’s roster, next year is very important
