We have to hope there is a way to bring kids to campus this summer as our facilities cannot be fully appreciated with a video presentation

Great to see the new staff getting a offer out! She would continue the trend of offering big guards, Lauren is 5'11, 3yr varsity starter, 2x All-Conference & 2x All-Area

We'll have some fans at Lehigh and Lafayette games. Welcome aboard.

It does seem strange to see a future HC player wearing "Lehigh" on her jersey.

Her AAU team has 2 other D.1 commits - to St. Joe’s and Rider - anyone know if Lehigh or Lafayette offered her ?

Nice first recruit for Coach M to beat out two A10 schools

Looks like we'll be playing Rider at least once in the next four years.

Why Rider? They are not near Allentown, must be unrelated to this recruit.
BTW, Parkland would be, I believe, the second largest HS in Mass. 3,200+ students. They have to be in the largest division in PA I would think.

In the Morning Call article Ms. Berger mentioned she would be playing her AAU teammate who committed to Rider in the future. The size of the school is a good sign. She averaged 14 points as a Junior which isn't awe inspiring, but if she is playing in the largest division in PA, that is more impressive.

Is Magarity recruiting any Mass. girls? She had at least one at UNH, Gogolin.

Is Magarity recruiting any Mass. girls? She had at least one at UNH, Gogolin. Hope so. Levin, O'Brien, Manis: Our top three players all talked like '87 writes.🙂

Just as long as she gets quality players, it is irrelevant where they reside

I agree that getting quality players is the chief goal. Of course, some feel that recruiting local players (who win) can bring in more fans. If that should be the case, that is also a goal worth pursuing.

Has there been a local player, male or female, who drew a considerable number of local fans beyond their families ?

It is harder to sell a product that the customer has never heard of. In this case I am thinking of the recruit and her family as the customer, not local fans.
If you have a player from a Massachusetts Catholic High School like Amy O'Brien and Lauren Manis, HC should have an advantage over an Arkansas or BYU and a chance to recruit above it's weight class. If you have a Jewish girl like Sherry Levin, you shouldn't have a natural advantage, but Togo worked his magic.🙂

Is Magarity recruiting any Mass. girls? She had at least one at UNH, Gogolin. Sorta, if you count an offer out to Rhay Porter, 6' 2" forward, Wilbraham & Monson Academy (Ma), who is from Scotia, NY,. Other than the recent Huber offer & the Berger commit, there has been a noticeably lack of info out there about new offers. I don't think that AM had made any offers to Mass players for '21. One question is how many spots are available, currently the 20/21 has 12 scholarship players w/ 2 seniors. Depending on any possible budget restrictions, she could only have 1 scholarship left or as many as 4 (aside from the still unknown status of Faulkner).

Let's put it this way- there are players out there who are starting for schools that we compete with that are playing well. So I would assume there'd be a couple more out there like them.
I'm not saying dwell on them. But most certainly "kick the tires" and see if there is mutual interest. If not, move on.

I think Tim that as I mentioned in another thread, I assume MM is well aware of any local players as she has recruited in the same areas and often for some of the same kids, Gogolin is one example.

I hope Coach Mo improves the team without blowing it up. WBB is coming off 19-11 and MBB is coming off 3-29, but Coach Nelson has hand picked the majority of the team and Coach Mo starts without four starters who graduated and may not have a single player she picked for the upcoming season. I think expectations for wins and losses should be roughly equal for the two programs for the 20-21 season.

Has there been any indication that she has any interest in doing this? Nobody is operating under the belief that they will duplicate their record from last year, in large part because injuries cost nearly all they underclass women any or limited opportunities to play. Next year looks to be a down year regardless who is coaching.
