I presume his sickness prevented him from playing in Tuesday’s game If he’s got what a lot of kids around here have had, it’s a solid week before you get back to full strength.

He wasn't even running full speed before scoring above the rim. I hope BN can shepherd Bubba and help him grow his skills over a full four years.

In an easy win Bubba had 17, 10 rebs, 8 steals, and 6 assists. As Clark Kellog would say, a real stat stuffer His team is now 12-3, 8-0 in the league

Taking inspiration from Michael Jordan’s famous “Flu Game,” Southfield Christian’s Da’Jion (Bubba) Humphrey gave us the “Flu Shot” last Friday night.
Battling a high fever and serious head cold, the 6-foot-4 bear of a Mr. Basketball candidate nailed a circus-like 3-pointer from the top of the key to beat the buzzer and vault his Eagles to a 59-56 home-win over Birmingham Detroit Country Day.
“I got a good look at the rim and let it fly, the basket looked big even if I hadn’t been shooting it that well for most of the game,” Humphrey said. “I’m going to get healthy, get back right and keep leading this team.”
Even though he wasn’t born yet when his Airness, MJ, had his 1997 “Flu Game” — Jordan scored 38 points and connected on the game-winning triple in Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz while visibly sapped by heavy flu symptoms — notoriously hard-nosed Humphrey harkened back to the iconic Hall of Famer’s heroics that night 23 years ago when discussing his game winner Friday.
“Being sick and playing in a game like that is hard...Man, I don’t know how Mike did it. But if he did it, I felt I could too,” he said.
Humphrey is signed to play his college hoops in the Patriot League at Holy Cross. He’s helped Southfield Christian collect two straight state titles at the small-school level (Class D/Division 4) the past two seasons.

His team is racking up some very lopsided wins--weak competition?

Probably Lowest classification in Michigan But his team has beaten some higher classification teams in non league games

Perhaps the competition is similar to what Whitinsville Christian faced when AVB played there. That competition level was no impediment to success in the PL.

We've been on Humphrey for a couple years, so have watched him in AAU play, where competition was likely stiffer.
Pridgen played in NEPSAC Class B, not highly competitive for the most part. BU's Walter Whyte (a likely 2nd team All-PL selection this year) played in an even weaker Class C.
