Apparently, Bubba play pick-up hoops with a Darius Slay. Pretty cool.

All his stats are good but what jumped out at me was the 3.2 steals per game. Of course I know they won't come as easy in college--still, that's an impressive stat to me

So is the rebounding, , 6,5, esp for a combo guard.

I heard from a friend in the area he is known for having exceptionally quick hands and instincts to tip and make steals

I heard from a friend in the area he is known for having exceptionally quick hands and instincts to tip and make steals HC once excelled in steals. Kevin Hamilton is the all-time leader for HC and for the Patriot League. Saeed Nelson snuck into second place this season, passing Torey Thomas and Jave Meade, now in 3rd & 4th lace respectively. I'm certainly putting no pressure on Bubba, but looking forward to seeing what he (and the rest of our new crew) can do

I think the idea was that deflections were an accurate measure of how disruptive the D was being to the opposing team's offense.

Like RW I have always believed the first defensive stat to review is tips/deflections- started in the early 70s watching Georgetown trap, press and then again in the half court

I watched George’s teams of the 70s -early 80s do an excellent job of trapping, deflecting and forcing turnovers. Chris Potter was the best as the defender.on the inbounder.
