His page in prephoops.com 6-8 --spending a post-grad year in prep school www.prephoops.com/2019/10/recruiting-report-tyson-brown-2020/October 30, 2019 "He has picked up offers from Fairfield, Robert Morris and Towson, and has received a lot of interest from a number of schools including ODU, NC State, Jacksonville State, Murray State, Coppin State, Northern Kentucky, JMU and Radford. He took a visit to Towson this past weekend and says he’ll plan more moving forward in the season."

Massanutten is 0-4 this year with losses by 40 points (69-27) to Scotland HS; by 63 points (110-37) to Franklin Prep; and by 58 points (77-19) to Eastern Mennonite. Should make for an easy transition. www.militaryschool.com/mma-boys-basketball/

Massanutten is a little down this year but they have a few really intriguing prospects led by 2020 6’9 Tyson Brown. Seems to grow every time I see him, continues to improve touch & ball skills, athletic & very high ceiling. Robert Morris, Fairfield & Towson have offered [and HC]

Massanuten fields a separate PG team that did indeed beat Worcester Academy and other preps as well. I'm thinking that defense is not highly emphasized by the coach as Massanuten won its last game 137-88

Really curious to see what the roster will be in a couple weeks. While nobody owes alumni and fans an explanation on who is on scholarship, who is going or who is part of the roster going forward, I think some transparency would be welcome

Agree by name, although I am just looking for aggregate numbers which can be shared ie we have 11 scholarship players in 2019

Here are people that we generally think are on scholarship for next season based on signing a NLI.
1. Martindale 2. Rabinovich 3. Humphrey 4. Pridgen 5. Wade 6. Lowder 7. Hargis 8. Niego 9. Copeland 10. Butler 11. Faw 12. Verbeek 13. One of the recently offered 2020 guys
So, either one of those guys is leaving or Reilly does not have a scholarship for next year. Yeutter, Hart and Sandy are walk-ons.

Yeutter is quite a bargain, based on minutes played per scholarship dollar expended.

Bison137 can help out here, but I don’t think Reilly can be on scholarship this year, get his scholarship lifted as a sophomore, and then have an incoming freshman pick up that scholarship. This would kind of be gaming the system, having more than 13 scholarship players on a roster, in a way.
This really is foreign territory, not knowing 1) who’s on scholarship, 2) who may be transferring, 3) who could be incoming as either an additional 2020 recruit or incoming transfer.
Wild stuff.

Reilly is an enigma. Glad to have him, seems like a great kid from a great basketball background, but his unusual path onto a D-1 basketball team makes figuring out his scholarship status difficult.
Happy for him he is one year closer to a college degree than he was this summer.

Do we need to revisit some of the past messages, e.g. "scholarship offer" versus "opportunity to play" and what players were shown signing NLI's?
I think the thought that somebody is leaving is not too far-fetched.....

Reilly is an enigma. Glad to have him, seems like a great kid from a great basketball background, but his unusual path onto a D-1 basketball team makes figuring out his scholarship status difficult. Happy for him he is one year closer to a college degree than he was this summer. After seeing him play for the first third of a season and understanding that he was an extremely late addition to the 2019 class, I’m beginning to think he is not on scholarship this year. Seems like Nelson could have told Reilly he’d have a spot on the roster, but wouldn’t be on scholarship. Getting to play basketball at HC, while not on scholarship, may be a better situation than PG’ing at Exeter. If we are assuming that Reilly and Sandy are non-scholarship, that would make ten scholarship players on this year’s roster. With CLS being the only scholarship departing, that frees up four slots. Makes sense why Nelson has been actively shopping for the final scholarship in the 2020 class.
