One other stat for Kucowski that is important is that she leads the PL by a very wide margin in blocked shots. Unfortunately for her, she gets very little help from her teammates, especially at the offensive end.

Their twin towers are averaging 25 points a game. But Lauren and Megan are averaging more than that and our 3 pt shooting is on loan from God.

Didn't realize in that otherwise offensive "meh" game yesterday, HC still went 5-12, 42%, from behind the arc.

They seemed to want to get it inside for most of the first half and early second half. Nice that the touch was still there when needed.

Pedi is very disciplined. If she has an open look she launches the three, if the defense charges towards her she passes it. She may not get an assist for most passes but it gives the HC offense a brief imbalance to take advantage of if they can.

What ? ! Silly suggestion that grade school kids at the invitation of HC would riot for the opponent- I hope you were kidding

I think this will be the first post-BG "Get fit with the Crusaders" game for elementary school students. The Holy Cross Women's TV show died when BG left and I don't know if the annual bowling outing is continuing. I think I recall a trip to the Mercy Center has been continued under AM. These Worcester area community initiatives were right in Bill Gibbons' wheelhouse. Coach Mac strikes me as a little more reserved, which is fine. It will be interesting to see what the turnout is tomorrow.
I don't have any criticism of anyone. I just can picture BG happily working the phones to build as big a turnout as possible and salute him for starting this positive tradition.
On the other hand, Coach Mac is a Worcester native, also. For all I know She was the one who initiated or worked hard to facilitate this annual game. It certainly gives a couple of thousand kids a positive memory of Holy Cross, and positive impressions from childhood tend to become ingrained.

These grade school programs are now all the rage, BG was an early proponent, but seemingly everybody on the women side does it now. It's a school day trip, like going to the museum. The fun starts when as happen one year that the game ran late and all the kids had to leave to be bused back to to be release to go home. The kids are in the 7-10 range, the tend to cheer somewhat indiscriminately. The stands will be filled,

Morning conditions are prime for a two hour delay in the start of school. But, throw some salt on College St. and send the buses up the hill. If NESN wasn't involved they could push the start time back to accommodate a school delay, but NESN can't have dead air...and empty stands are still better than a fourth re-run of a fishing show.

Just checked the local weather here 10 miles west of Worcester..Light snow overnight, less than and inch of accumulation....Should be no problem, IF the forecast is correct!

The 'pards junior center Natalie Kucowski leads the nation in rebounding at 13.8 per game - she's been their best player for these 2 1/2 years but she'll have her hands full with our twin towers in Swords and Manis (Lauren is a super rebounder herself, averaging 12.1 per game) - this game should be a comfortable W if we play efficiently.

HC and The President both scheduled to begin at 11AM. At first commercial break, Lauren Manis already has eight points and CNN is still showing an empty podium at the White House. Great turnout at the Hart.

Manis is going to foul out the Lafayette front court. She has mastered the fine line between getting fouled and committing a charge. RW was right that the PL is a senior driven league. The players refine their games over four years. Good to see Addie Cross getting experience as she begins her four year path of improvement.
