Fantastic!!! I have seldom been so happy to be WRONG on a pick! I missed the first half by going to Mass...maybe it helped!!!

We can argue all day long about him, but it was a different Drew Lowder we saw today - and everybody on the floor responded to it.

What a great win for this new coach and this struggling team. We looked good today except from the foul line
Pretty solid game by that D-3 player Austin Butler

"How do you like me now coach?" Icewater in his veins. The coach drew the play to get the ball to Lowder. If the coach didn’t actually want Lowder around (or didn’t know how to handle a player, as some have foolishly suggested), he likely wouldn’t still be around and definitely wouldn’t have come off the bench to be featured in the final set. Nelson appears to be the real deal. The program is finally back in good hands.

Hopefully we've seen the last of whatever Lowder/Nelson drama there's been, because he can be a real asset for us going forward.

Faw - 5p, 5r, 3bl, 2st, and great hustle. Every one of his blocks was critical, as was his scramble for the loose ball late.

Despite fouling out Faw looked much different today and was important to the final outcome

And had all the praise for Pridgen's pass ... Lowder's basket was good

I heard the postgame interview another way - the play was for Pridgen - he was doubled and made the pass to Drew - then Bang ! we did not shoot well in the 2nd half but tough D helped and Navy's big man leaving the game with a shoulder injury certainly helped

Loved the “onions” on that Lowder winner. No hesitation. Wanted the shot. No idea why he was being subbed out so much down the stretch.
Encouraging to see such team improvement in league play so far. Competition isn’t as good, sure. But there was evident improvement by Faw and Verbeek today. Wade shot well early. Lowder was a clear difference maker (even before the winner). Team survived Pridgen’s yips from the line and the absences of Copeland and Niego.
Some may poo-poo a two-point win over Navy. But given the season start and the steep climb to rebuild the program, let’s just enjoy this one and look to build off it.

VB and Faw are both fighting for rebounds and blocks underneath in addition to some three point attempts under Nelson. At this point Wade, Lowder, Pridgen are an upgrade over Green and Grandy and today we started to replace some of Floyd's defense underneath.

Nelson had Lowder in the game at the end when he needed to be there. My guess is he starts next game, but it's who finishes that matters. Had 23 minutes.
He was what a PG is supposed to be today. A facilitator and enabler, somebody who makes his teammates better. He is also a gifted scorere, but Nelson clearly wants him to be something more.
Folks who want a highlight reel may be disappointed going forward, but I think the point is to win.
