Agree It remains the scholarship available story or mystery

So assuming Reilly is a scholarship and Copeland returns we are at 11 and still have 2 left, and if not we could have 4 openings
Will he use them or carry them over and recruit a couple of WO to practice this year

I can’t imagine Townsel would be offered without knowing if he would pass Admissions so it certainly appears at least one slot could go to a transfer student. I know some on the board have said a transfer or two is a very long shot but I can see it happening.

Without knowing the comp, I think he would be a help where we need it the most.

jay rod🖤 @jayrodgers33 · 2h Commitment soon 👀🤷🏽♂️
wonder if he has been able to do more than a virtual visit to a school, and if he is being deadlined
will guess he picks EMichigan as the offer seemed to get his best response and he is from Ohio—his teammates Towns going to Ohio which might mean nothing and at this point we might have pulled our offer

I would be very surprised if Rodgers is coming to HC but would be happy to be wrong. Suspect we’re trying to find a big if we only have one scholarship left.

Here's Coulibaly (#44 in orange) in full-game action this past season.

Gets off to a slow start, but some pretty impressive stretrches at the defensive end in the 4th quarter.

Brian Stevens committed to Assumption

Pretty sure Stevens was being considered as a walk-on here and was never offered a scholarship.

I am wondering when some D-2 schools might link up with a D-i school through an Associates Degree. The athlete goes D2 and at the end of 2 years, when they have earned their Associates degree they can decide to remain at that school or to transfer (if their play warrants it) to a D1 school. It could be a nice feeder program that gives athletes at the D2 school an opportunity to pursue their sport or to move up a level if they desired. In te meantime, it could bring some talent too the D2 school for at least 2 years.

Can you identify D.2 schools that offer associate degrees after 2 yrs and bachelors after 4 yrs ? This is an out-of-box idea for sure. I think you have too much time on yr hands (as we all do)

There are many who do that (and offer online degrees as well). Start with a school like Bellevue College. They ever have an Associates degree set up to transfer - on to the Bachelor program at Bellvue or to another institution.

Louth Coulibaly picked up an offer tonight from UMKC.
UMKC had also recently expressed interest in Elias King.

For it to mean anything, the player would have to be guaranteed a spot at the D1 school for his junior and senior years - which no D1 coach would be willing to do. And if there isn't a guaranteed spot, then there really wouldn't be any linkage. If the player wanted to move up, every D1 school would be in the same boat.
