Hasn't Georgetown had problems growing its endowment? Does the school, or its athletic department, really have deep pockets? Ratio of academic prestige:money Georgetown #1 in the country

Georgetown does not have deep pockets, but it can probably offer enough need-based aid to match Laffy's half or 3/4 quarters merit scollie. The average need-based fin aid package at GU was $45,500 according to USN&WR.

Lots of full pay Internationals, roughly 18% of the student body, subsidizes the rest of the operation.

Isn't Georgetown's endowment over 1.5B? Seems like a lot of money.

The cost of living is higher in DC. The cost of a good night's rest is a tad more expensive in Georgetown's 'hood than it is on Caro St. spws.homevisit.com/mls/317057Somewhat more seriously, HC's endowment $ per student surpasses Georgetown's, and BC's, and Villanova's. Among all Catholic colleges and universities, only Notre Dame du Lac whomps HC by that measure.

I think we're asking what is the % of int'l 'enrolled' students at GU (not 'accepted') - are you saying it's the same ?

I think we're asking what is the % of int'l 'enrolled' students at GU (not 'accepted') - are you saying it's the same ? According to the site below, there are 478 international undergraduates in a student body of ~6,800. You never get a consistent number on enrollment from any one source. The incoming freshmen class is limited to 1,550 as part of the campus plans submitted by DC law. internationalservices.georgetown.edu/stats/

This tweet was posed yesterday by Holy Cross Football.
I wonder whether this means that HC considers the 2021 recruiting class to be complete, and is moving on to the 2022 recruiting season.

Maybe both? I remember seeing as final list of LOI recruits in past years. Will we see that soon? That would provide an answer.

I don't think they will sign anyone else based on what I've seen/heard. With that said it's tough to figure out the roster. Right now if zero Seniors come back for the fall they still have 4 roster spots open to get to 90.
In addition, I have heard, but not confirmed, they are considering increasing the roster size to 94 for one year. If true they could add as many as 8 more players - unless some Seniors come back for the fall.

Wonder if they are more focused on transfer portal to fill in gaps/needs?

Could be the case. But by that token, that would most likely depend on if they have an money left to spend. I can't imagine the transfer portal would work unless there was a carrot like scholarship money.

I would think the numbers game is tricky if the league and/or HC has not set policy for seniors returning the play in fall '21 - increasing max roster to 94 makes a lot of sense given all the unknowns. Does anyone have insight into our seniors and their interest/eligibility for a 9th semester ?

Very quiet day for Lehigh and the PL so far. Pards starting out with 5 quick signings.

One thing to keep in mind (and if I am wrong about this I'm sure richh or dharry13 will jump in and let us know, and they should not hesitate to do so) --
The PL scholarship limit is 60 -- spread over 4 years. It is not, as some may presume, 15 per year.
Holy Cross has 18 seniors on the 2020 roster, and there have been posts (absolutely correct) indicating that if none of the seniors return for 2021, we have 18 roster spots to fill. Conversely, if some seniors do return for 2021, it reduces the available roster slots accordingly.
Previous recruiting classes for Holy Cross have been much larger, and I suspect that the scholarship money available to the staff this year is probably somewhat less than 15. (In similar fashion, if Bucknell had a smaller roster number, it may have had more than 15 scholarships available for this class.)
I don't know how the numbers break down for Holy Cross or any other PL team. But if Holy Cross has less than 15 scholarships to use this year, it suggests that Holy Cross will have more than 15 scholarships in one or more of the next three years.
In short, all PL teams are not necessarily on an even basis for recruiting in any particular year.
