Appears that St. Francis style of play may be a better fit for Marlon Hargis. Will have to look at the replay on ESPN+
Tonight St. Francis defeated Bryant 89-82
Marlon scored 14 points with 7 rebounds.

I did not intend to send anyone into a trauma. 🥴
Have any suggestions? I could not find a thread on Marlon, and did not want to start a new thread for someone who is not longer in the program.
After last year’s exodus, we should start a thread called “The Departed”.

Last year there were 1028 Div I players who put their name in the Transfer Portal.
I realize that this is a particularly unusual year with players being granted an extra year of eligibility due to COVID.
However, my bet is that we CRUSH last year's number by the time the tournament is over. Right now we are at 542 as I write this.
Got to believe we will go over 1800 if most of the seniors file.
There are 357 Div I schools. At 13 players per team, that is 4,641 Div I hoopers.
If I am correct, over 38% of Div I players will have their name in the portal.
Talk about turnover of rosters next year!

I've seen an estimate that 1500 players will enter the portal this year. That estimate didn't break out how many will be graduating seniors.

Boston University's Jack Hemphill in the portal.

Unless Mathon returns for a post grad year Hemphill would have been BU's only experienced returning big man next year. Seems that schools that can keep their roster intact will have a big advantage in this new transfer happy era.

I can’t see any of our non-seniors leaving at this point. At least that’s my hope. If any do leave, we’d have what nhteamer would call a Code Red.

Sure, I can see the argument someone will leave; but let's not speculate on anyone in particular, whatever the reason.
At least there were no out-in-the-open discipline issues that cropped up in 2020-21; which would make speculation more rampant.

I think if you, as an underclassman, are not dancing, it's advantageous to jump into the portal sooner rather than later. For example, Tabbs from BC is in the portal and has already committed to East Carolina. Coaches are already seeing who is available, and how particular players might fill a need.
Are the rules such that once you enter the portal, and subsequently commit, you subsequently can't de-commit? Sort of like signing the LOI.

Tyler Kolek Freshman from GMU is transferring. A-10 rookie of the year, from Rhode Island.Name sounds familiar. Without looking it up, did we offer him?

Kolek looks to be a long range shooter, 75% of shots this year from beyond the arc, hit 36% although overall shooting only 40%.
