Good to hear that things are starting to move back toward "normal." Hoops could use a bit more stability right now and then let's move forward from there.

Sam Iorio, formerly of American University is now formerly of University of South Alabama.
He played at Parkland High School in Allentown PA, before American. The same high school as incoming first year HCWBB Lindsay Berger.

Bates Jones, 6’8” PF, from Davidson now in the portal. He is a sophomore and played with that Charlotte Latin.-could be interesting?

Ouch! Cincinnati had a pretty good year. Are these players who ever got off of the bench? I'm not sure success has anything to do with it. Bona had a very good year, the 1st round loss to LSU notwithstanding. Two players have entered the portal in the last two days joining four others who left the team at various times earlier in the season. That leaves Bona with six scholarship players -- the five starters and a reserve who never sees the floor. I suspect PT was the major driver for most of the departures. I don't want to blame the players, but it seems that many of them find it easier to transfer than to try and figure out a way to earn more time.

That is blaming the players, as they should be. The game is diseased.

Well, for many who have thought of a transfer, this year with the civid exemption may seem to be the best time to get it done. I think we-ll see a big number this year and, if the 1 year exemption expires, a big drop next year.

Reasonable to expect some bump with guys like Austin and Matt looking for grad opportunities. This is 100 percent of one school's senior class. By definition, there should be a 33 percent increase in the number of people eligible to transfer this year vs any past year

I think we-ll see a big number this year and, if the 1 year exemption expires, a big drop next year. I would be surprised if the exemption thing is still in place next year. If it is we have a really bad situation vis a vis COVID. From the sound of things, the NCAA is going to get rid of the sit one year if you transfer and if that happens, I wouldn’t expect much of a drop, if any, on the transfer front. (The sit one rule will apply to your second transfer which probably is getting more common these days). See Joe Pridgen for example.

If this year does not count toward eligibility, then it will be "in place" for several years down the road.

Forgot to add, there are some conferences that require you sit for two years if you transfer to another conference school.

Nelly Cummings of Colgate has entered the portal. Verbal Commits lists him as a redshirt Junior so he may be graduating in a few months.

Not sure how many are walk-ons or grad transfers. I know the latter are in there and assume the former are based on the fact our walk-on transfers were listed last year in the portal.

With no real grad programs, he isn't a fit at Colgate. Not sure if they are as rigid about 5th year athletes as Bucknell, but other than in football it is rare.

Yes, there are definitely a number of walk-ons. Any player can put his name into the portal - and VC simply lists every player who does so. There are two players listed who were on the Navy JV in 2020 or 2021.

Don't know how serious this is or whether we have any prospect of getting a commitment, but for information purposes ---
