Well we can't blame that on facilities, because Brown's are terrible. Admissions (probably not, but you never know).
Success of the program? Does anyone think Brown will pass Harvard, Yale & Princeton in basketball? We stink terribly but I think we have a better chance of being good than they do.

Maybe Mike Martin out-dueled Brett Nelson.

Brown had one of their better years in the Ivy in many years - they missed out on a playoff berth because of a tiebreaker - t think I’d disagree about Brown’s prospects vs HC in the next 3-4 years

Or all of our speculating on scholarships might be incorrect and the mystery continues. Perhaps we don’t have an open scholarship and the staff might have made assumptions that haven’t materialized

Brown: Ivy League. HC: Patriot League. 'nuf ced. Good PL program should be able to beat Brown semi-regularly. We are not a good PL program at the moment.

Brown beat URI this year I believe.....in general, like in football now, Ivy hoop is strongah than the PL...at least in the top half of the league anyway.

Judson Martindale, Mike Rabinovich, and DaJion Humphrey all had offers from Brown - they're coming to Holy Cross next year.
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Penn are hard to beat on the recruiting trail - the other four, not so much.

Yeah, beat URI & Harvard twice. Also beat Merrimack convincingly. Some not-so-great losses (Navy, UML) in there too.
Probably their best year since they hosted the Milan Browns in the CIT (or was it CBI) .

Brown: Ivy League. HC: Patriot League. 'nuf ced. Spoken as decisively as the original Nuf Ced, leader of the Royal Rooters cheering section of the Boston Americans and owner of the Boston bar "Third Base Saloon". Now back to Prince Moses and early reviews of BN's recruiting prowess.😊

At NMH as well as at many of the prep schools, Ivy League possesses an undeniable cache that the PL does not.....just one factor.

At NMH as well as at many of the prep schools, Ivy League possesses an undeniable cache that the PL does not.....just one factor. Agree because even if the kid likes HC there is a good chance his parents and teachers will educate him about the benefits of the Ivy League. Twenty years from now he will be perceived as very intelligent by someone who knows the Ivy League but might not know the academic difference between two very Catholic sounding schools like Holy Cross and Sacred Heart. Not implying he isn't very intelligent to begin with no matter where he goes to school, just talking about implicit bias. I worked with a guy years ago who went to Dartmouth and I put him on a pedestal. I kept casually looking for evidence he was above average in intelligence. Never found it but he was a good person.

Of course, there's a lot of folks who could not name the Ivy League schools beyond HYP without prompting.

Let's see: Colgate, Cornell, Bucknell, Brown, Penn State, Princeton, Bowdoin, Harvard, MIT. And Yale makes all ten.
