“Personally I feel extraordinarily good about being able to listen to Dr. Fauci, whom I'd never heard of a year ago,” said Buffett. “I think we're very, very fortunate as a country to have somebody at 79 years of age, appears be able to work 24-hours a day and keep a good humor about him and communicate in a very, very, straightforward matter about fairly complex subjects and tell you when he knows something and when he doesn't know something.” “I do feel I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Dr. Fauci for educating and informing me— actually along with my friend Bill Gates, too — and I know I get it from a straight-shooter when I get it from either one of those,” said Buffett.

Dr. Fauci isn't the only HC scientist working on the coronavirus. In an effort to pass this baseball-less spring, my wife and I have tried to learn some stuff. We watched a PBS/Ken Burns 4 hour documentary on the Genome the last couple of nights. One of the scientists they featured was Feng Zheng, an academic/entrepreneur, who was using the gene editing tool CRISPR to treat rare diseases. In this morning's Globe I saw this story www.bostonglobe.com/2020/05/07/nation/cambridge-biotech-gets-emergency-ok-new-covid-19-test/and realized that this was the same guy I learned from last night and then saw that another founder was Jim Collins '87 who was a Rhodes Scholar, MacArthur Grant winner, etc. sherlock.bio/team/

Haberlin Hall was dedicated on December 8, 1959. I wonder what building Dr. Fauci had his science labs in during his Freshman year of 1958-59? Somewhere in the catacombs of Fenwick-O'Kane?

He said he didn't take many science courses; science was a minor, along with philosophy and a romance language. His major was Greek / Latin (i.e., the classics).

What's suspicious about a platform taking down videos that are designed to spread false information about a dangerous situation? It's unfortunate that this is the exception rather than the norm on most social platforms.

Dr. Fauci getting some unrelated press today as he comments on the death of his friend, the AIDS and gay rights activist, Larry Kramer. www.nytimes.com/2020/05/27/health/larry-kramer-anthony-fauci.htmlThe story of the good doctor's willingness to embrace allies anywhere he can find them and to put aside criticism and see the best in people shows us that his Jesuit education taught him humility and love along with science, the classics, and problem solving.

Really do hope HC development is thinking hard about Fauci. Lots of big funders (Buffett, Gates, etc) have expressed deep appreciation for his service.

Fauci finished second in his debut race today at Belmont I was too late for the broadcast, tuned in as the horses for the fourth race were heading onto the track. Fauci beat Garoppolo, obviously named for a certain QB. www.nyra.com/belmont/racing/results

Yes but how funny that bobblehead looks like he's about to throw a grenade. Bet Tony himself is getting a kick out of that.
Think he's my new favorite alum. Pretty heroic guy who was very worthy of the Medal of Freedom. More so now.

Fauci, a 2YO colt out of Malibu Moon, should go off as second favorite in the 9th race, the $500,000 Kentucky Downs Juvenile Turf Sprint today. That's a pretty nice honor, having a race horse named after you.

Fauci is getting feisty. He has sharpened his Crusader Lance and is taking less and less horse crap from people trying to muzzle him. I've noticed other top Govt. Physicians starting to follow suit, like the "Admiral" who is not in the Navy but wears a uniform and has the title from the Public Health Service.
Plus Dr. Fauci's voice is much improved since he had his throat surgery. Don't bet against him...horse or Doctor.

Did anyone order and get the Fauci bobblehead? I ordered and paid for mine on 8/19/2020 and while they were happy to take my money and every few days try to entice me to order some baseball player or other semi-celebrity bobblehead, they have neither sent me or emailed me any status of the delay.
