Don’t think so. Games in 1977 didn’t have the score at the bottom of the screen and I believe the 1977 game was played at Assembly Hall at IU.

The HC players appear to be Austin Butler (4j and Caleb Green. The third HC player was difficult to identify, but on analysis of height as well as uniform accessories appears to be Connor Niego.
The uniforms in 1977 resembled the University of North Carolina with a triangle patch on the side of the shorts with an HC monogram.
The game was played at IU.

We played at Michigan in late December 2013, losing 88-66--could it be that game ?

November 10, 2018 at Michigan is the final answer. Michigan 56 Holy Cross 37
We led 24-18 at the half and then Michigan outscored us 27-8 in the first 10 minutes of the second half

This game was from the season prior to this last season. Seems as if the question has already been answered

Connor had a pretty decent first half if I recall.

Shorts were shorter and hair (until Mike Vicens* changed his in 1978) was longer! *it was the beginning of the punk rock era, and my friend nicknamed him "Mike Vicious", which, in retrospect, was a pretty apt description of his style of play, not that any of us were complaining about that.

We did lead Michigan at the half in '77, though - on a Charlie Browne basket to end the half. (Curt Gowdy insisted on calling Charlie "George" the whole game.) Oh what might have been if Ronnie P and John O'Connor weren't on the bench in street clothes with injuries.)

...Me either. Played 26 games in Bird's last season, 91-92. Only played 3 games after January 10, didn't appear in the playoffs.

I was at the Northeastern / Holy Cross game when John O’Connor was injured. It occurred in front of the Northeastern bench when one of the ref’s step on the back of his heal as John was starting to run down the court after a missed shot by Northeastern. The step tore his Achilles’ tendon. Unfortunately, for the rest of his career he was not able to play with the same intensity that he had shown up to that point. He had the potential to be a monster in the front court for HC, similar to Big Pat regarding his skills if I remember correctly through Purple Colored glasses.

Crucis—right you are regarding John O’Connor-never quite the same after the Achilles injury
Regarding the Michigan game, Bryant Gumbel’s comment at the end of the game was one I’ll never forget: “This game was a story of two guards...one who was here (Green) and one who wasn’t (Perry)”. Green was an All American with great quickness and Kevin McAuley had a bum knee—not the ideal matchup for HC.
Potter and Vicens were outstanding...outplayed the Michigan front court with Phil Hubbard and Johnny Robinson.

There is a great story George tells about the halftime talk and comments from McAuley about Green. Speaks to how committed the kids were to Holy Cross, George and the staff

There was a magazine article about HC's motion offense and the photo accompanying the piece was of Kevin guarding Rickey Green.
Green was so quick that it didn't matter very much at any level that he pretty much could only go left.

I think I have a copy of the offense in a box -It was a good offense for certain teams and was especially effective during that time period. Jim Dougher was a character and great basketball mind. I was at the U.S. Air Arena watching the Capital Classic with Jim the day Valvano was announced as HC of NCST - they dropped him off in a helicopter. His comments to Jim were hysterical about the difference in resources between Iona and NCST.

Pikiell must have thought a lot of him to bring him to Rutgers.

I remember his great performance against UMass on night one of the Colonial Classic at the Boston Garden. I think his stat line was 21 points and 22 points. I believe that was about one month before he tore his Achilles.
