Not many conferences have a geographic footprint as well suited for a pandemic as HE. But, would HE purchasing a lot of land somewhere near the geographic center of the league and constructing a roofed, but open sided rink and holding all games there sans fans reduce the chances of Covid spread more than playing the games indoors? It wouldn't cost that much per school.

Doubtful any survive.

Here ya go. Can't get any more centrally located in Hockey East than Boston. 3 schools in the city, Lowell, Merrimack, HC, Providence all under 40 miles. www.brooklinerec.com/DocumentCenter/View/3885/Jack-Kirrane-Skating-RinkMy father took me to a game there around the time the person the rink was named after was playing for the US Olympic team. Froze my ass off.

I was thinking there used to be a rink in front of Jamaica Pond in Boston across the street from the old Boston Children's Museum. But I googled it and what I was remembering is ice skating on the Pond after visits to the museum. Talk about Global Warning, ice skating is no longer allowed on the pond because it doesn't get cold enough in the winter to make it safe very often.
There were nice houses along the Jamaica Way and one of them was the former home of James Michael Curley. It was the one with three leaf clovers cut into the shutters.
