No inside information, but based on things I've heard from Charlie Baker, I'm predicting no fans at Hart until there's a vaccine.
In MA, the Red Sox and the Patriots are allowed to play (without fans) even though they blow away the state's 50 person limit for outdoor gathering. I ASSUME that they have some sort of waiver based on 100 percent testing a couple of days before the game. Will the state be as forthcoming with waivers for indoor events? Your guess is as good as mine. Last I heard Dr Fauci speak, he was still optimistic for a vaccine in calendar 2020. While Charlie Baker has said no phase IV in MA until there's a vaccine, I have heard nothing about what percentage of people need to receive it before we are fully open again

The question remains....Who is willing to sit in a large gathering without a proven vaccine that has been widely distributed to ensure safety?
Could be a moot question, as the Commonwealth may not allow large gatherings of a 1,000+.

Hopefully that would mean HC crowds of 1000+ as the team improves.

Could be a moot question, as the Commonwealth may not allow large gatherings of a 1,000+. The point is moot because MA has already said nothing of this nature until there;s a vaccine. In terms of the question who would go, the answer is lots of people. The NFL played this past weekend with no fans in Foxboro, but about 17,000 in KC Barring another spike, I might go down to the Harbor Yard to see HC at Fairfield. Less likely if the game was at Alumni.

So I won't be going down to the Yard to HC take on old friend Caleb Green.
Too bad. I was pretty confident I could find a seat in that arena that wasn't 6 feet from anyone else. I assume they'll play in Alumni unless they have some contractual obligation to the Yard to pay for the place even with no fans

Wonder if our Rutgers Invitational games will survive the paired down OOC schedule ? Which OOC games will Be played ? I presume that the PL schedule will have to be released before any OOC games can be scheduled. Yesterday the committee recommended 4 OOC games. That would go with our 18 PL games.

Definitely can’t see fans being allowed at the Hart until at least second semester. Probably not the entire season.

I Don’t think teams need to wait for a patriot league schedule, but they do need a ruling by the Patriot League as to whether they are allowed to follow the NCAA rules, I.e. November 25th start date. The PL schedule is not going to start before December 31st, so teams should have the flexibility to schedule games prior to Christmas. I know Bucknell has been talking to schools about games and dates, and I assume Holy Cross is doing likewise. What committee recommended four OOC games?

Bison, The statement that came out about the dates, etc. Why won’t the PL start league games before Dec 31 ?

I predict HC does not leave the state of MA for its OOC slate. Or if they do, it will be only within the RI/CT/Albany footprint.

Bison, The statement that came out about the dates, etc. Why won’t the PL start league games before Dec 31 ? Because of Christmas/finals. HC usually only plays one game between roughly Dec 10-26th anyway. Get the four OOC games in between opening night and finals, then shut down for a bit, then come back for league play.
If they need to build a makeup buffer in before the PLT, they have the option of compressing the PLT to a neutral site, and saving a calendar week that way.

Definitely can’t see fans being allowed at the Hart until at least second semester. Probably not the entire season. Speaking of the Hart, I think HC should use their central location in New England to be a host of many games in late November and December when there aren't any students on campus save for basketball and hockey teams. I can think of 12 D1 schools within an hour or so of the Hart Center who could play games on the 4 courts available in the Luth and the Jo. Stream the games to the world from Worcester.

Except for the video package, I don't think fans are high on the PL agenda at this point

When do you see fans allowed back to watch basketball at the luth My guess is a few months after a vaccine is released. Based on what Dr Fauci says I'm predicting fans will be allowed in Luth for the start of the 2021-22 season.

MAAC announced their schedule plans last week, but no decision on fans. That will be a last minute decision it looks like

I think Gov. Cuomo will decide about indoor fans, at least for the NY MAAC teams

I think fans will be allowed into the luth for at least this season sometime I think we have been in lockdown of not being able to attend sporting events for too long mass is at 1% and our governor is still in shut down while all other states are opening up
