Intriguing data on the attachment--thanks for bringing this to our forum. Overall undergraduate enrollment is down 4%. The freshman decline of 16% is frightening and I'll bet certain types of schools , e.g. small less-prestigious LAC's, suffered higher losses. I expect more and more such colleges will go terminal.

Well, with Community Colleges down 25%, your guess about lower level LACs looks just about right

A year working at Walmart, Target, Amazon, UPS, etc., where the demand is will be productive for the 16% who did not matriculate, imo. These stats represent an efficient response to the pandemic altered halls of academia and the overall economy.

What percentage of that 16 are taking a year off rather than waste money on a sub standard on-line education? Assuming there is a vaccine in the not too distant future, this might be a one time blip

Bleeding might worsen in second semester. Have to imagine many who are paying for HC this semester will not be willing to do so again next semester. Was talking to the Dad of an HC freshman and he said there’s no way his daughter will do another online semester at HC.
