Great results. Was there. Weather bad but nothing like the 1966 Dartmouth game weather. That one was for the ages.

‘66 was a Biblical deluge

I will always remember the Dartmouth Deluge as well as the failed 2 point conversion attempt that gave the game to HC, breaking Dartmouth's win streak. All other bad weather games pale by comparison. I seem to remember that even with the bad weather there was a crowd that would be one of our better ones at Fitton in recent years.

IIRC, at the Dartmouth, we huddled together for warmth...and survival.

Fully recognizing I've derailed this 11 year old look back, the 54 year look back requires me to once again admit to my wimping out at halftime to go back to my room in Alumni 212 (always remember it because of the NYC area code before they added a separate one for the out boroughs) to get totally changed and return in time for the 2nd half kickoff. Didn't miss a moment of the game and sitting through that made me feel like a participant in the game not just a spectator. It was the wettest I have ever been in my life though a close second was on a fishing trip on Lake Erie during a storm where the waves were so high and the lake so shallow you could see the bottom during the swells (or opposite of swells, whatever that might be called?) and thought the boat would hit the bottom of the lake. Thought I might die that day. At the football game, only thought I might catch pneumonia and die later as it seemed to be a very cold rain and hypothermia might set in. OK, digression over. Feel free to talk about this "recent" game.

Each of those games stands by itself as a great HC win. Enjoy them both...and the memories and stories of each as well!

Random thoughts:
IIRC for a mid-November game it wasn't that cold. At home, 20 miles away, it kept starting and stopping; on a few occasions I thought about jumping in the car and going, then it would pour like crazy and I stuck to the computer.
The field was rebuilt sometime after that, right? Bet it would hold up better now compared to then.
Worst rainstorm I attended in person was Bucknell in 1986. Lockbaum made a fantastic catch in the slop to set up the winning td in a 17-10 win.
1985 had two monsoons, one at UConn (we got killed) at one at Dartmouth (HC pulled that one out w/Chuck Doyle as the star, IIRC).

Another rain/monsoon game was at Brown in 1980....brutal rain/wind...would be postponed today I believe...miserable afternoon, Bruins 21-3

Feel free to talk about this "recent" game. I had gone home that Friday before the game for the weekend but certainly heard about it on Sunday when I returned to campus. Was in early October (the first?) and don’t remember any rain in NJ that weekend so I lucked out with the weather but regretfully missed a great game and an HC victory.
