If you have a Facebook account, you can see a short video of the Men's and Women's basketball teams getting their first taste of the Hart court..
Here is the link..https://www.facebook.com/HolyCrossBasketball/
Everything looks great! The free throw lanes are stained a dark brown, with a Patriot League Logo painted in there. The Holy Cross logo at center court is on a Stained background the shape of Massachusetts! White ceiling, floor stanchions for the end hoops...

The fact that the bleachers are pushed back answers the question about backed chairs in the lower section

But who are those other guys around him? Well thank you. This was one of a few I rotated on the old board and salvaged quick when setting up the nee board The fact that the guy in the center is from Bucknell is the reason is autograph is missing

Another look with the bleachers open. Looks great! My "former" seats are now in the aisle...I wonder where I'll end up...One seat on each side of the aisle?..lol

I see the back of my seats and the palce looks great. Like the white ceiling. Brightens up the whole place.
Still not loving the dark brown. During games, much of the purple in the building will be obscured and definitely on the periphery of the action. In addition, the tone of brown kind of clashes with the purple on the end and sidelines and the gray in the Crusader logo. Oh well.

Agree. Purple and dark brown is a combo no one has ever even thought of before.

While I still think we should have given much more of the $85M investment to HC's premier program, this looks much better than I had expected given the totally lack of hype/interest generated for the "new Hart."
That being said, the Mass logo at center court looks quite strange and unnecessary.

With the new bleacher seats open, there are no bleacher seatbacks.

I wish this weren't my first post, because I am bullish on HC hoop these days, but this is semi-disappointing.
I like the definition between sections in the new bleachers. I'm guessing seatbacks would've lowered capacity. Ceiling is too low for a center-mounted scoreboard, but a more prominent one on the far-end would be nice.

I was under the impression that capacity would remain the same, but I'm trying figure out how it's possible. Are there more rows?

PP, on the old board you had posted some numbers on what you had heard the new capacity would be. If I recall, you had posted that you thought the overall capacity would be slightly under 4,000, but it would consist of more permanent seats than the previous 3,600, and slightly less SRO seats than the previous 400. Was there an original plan that was revised? I can't see how there would be as many seats now.....if no other seats have been added, I'm guessing seating capacity is now around 3,000, plus SRO.
One possibility (?): if everyone enters from the upper concourse, could they put lower seats in the two corners at the concession/lobby end?
I think it's very clean and fresh looking (although not crazy bout the brown either)......

The previous lower bleachers had 11 rows.......so if you assume 3 seats are lost from each aisle, you would lose 99 seats on each side (3 aisles x 33 lost seats). Didn't see the end zone, but if you assume 50 seats are lost on each end, that would bring the capacity to about 3,300.

I hear that the plan is for thin people only in the bleacher seats. That will enable the Hart to accommodate a lot more fans. No one over 160 lbs will be admitted

Another look with the bleachers open. Is it just me or do the bleachers behind the baskets look smaller and farther off the court? If so, that takes away one of the best parts about the Hart when it's crowded: having the students right up close to the baselines. The new hoops also look to be getting in the way of the student sections.

Several of the plan sheets cover life safety, and there are calculations for how many people can exit per exit. IIRC, the capacity of the Hart court is between 3800 and 3900, and that includes about 80 occupants of the Ryan Room. The capacity of the the side court bleacher seating is 1650 (825 per side). The capacity of the end court bleachers is 704 (352 each end). All bleacher seating is 11 rows. To the 2354 spectator count on the lower level;, there is added 119 non-spectators during an event. Upper levels provide for 1270 seated spectators plus 32 wheelchair and companion seating, With the Ryan room, that's 3700+ spectators without standing room.

I don't have access to any of the data that Phreek seems to have or be able to get on a regular basis but I was always told from various people within Holy Cross athletics that the capacity was always going to be slightly less than it was currently but never given a specific number.
