I hope you enjoyed tonight's 42nd edition of this annual concert. Given the restrictions of space and social distance, only 1 mask was seen and some pieces came from the concerts of 2018 and 2019. The result was very special and I thank all those who made it possible.
May all in the Holy Cross Community/Family find peace and joy this Christmas season. Be well.

Our family enjoyed tonight’s concert.
HC did a wonderful job in the presentation. I hope that those who did not watch during the original broadcast tonight can view through the link in YouTube during this holiday season. The link for the 42nd Celebration of. Lessons and Carols - 2020 is:
Enjoy the Christmas Season! Peace on Earth to All!🎄

One of my favorite memories of Holy Cross was the Christmas celebration in Kimball with the HC glee club and ladies from a sister school singing Christmas carols.
Watching this year’s event what struck me the most was the number of instruments being played by presumed HC students which no doubt indicates more emphasis in having students who take music classes. I don’t think we had any music classes on the curriculum in my day unless it was purely an academic “history of music” type course.
A wonderful traditional event (42 years!) with creative ways to have groups singing together remotely.

One sad note (for me)...it was sad not to see any Jesuits involved in the production.

Fr. Maskewitz(sp) was involved in the production, just not on screen.

The performance was a mix of past and recently produce videos, i.e all of the solos. The major coral piece was actual over 50 individual solo recordings put together. After the performance the Cape Cod Club had its annual Christmas party; hosted/produced by the college.... over 50 'zoomed'.

Watched it last night (greatly enjoyed it and brings you back to the true meaning of Christmas) and sent the video to some non-Holy Cross, Catholic friends, who I thought would appreciate it. A special HC tradition. Look forward to attending in person next year.

I started watching on YouTube. Very impressive. However I noticed there was also an offering on the HC channel of a zoom group discussion of the 2020 election by the Political Science Dept. Faculty the afternoon after election day. I'm not that cultural, but enjoy following current events so I watched that instead. Very impressive also, although one Prof felt there would be little litigation after the election because the results were so decisive.🙂

A Merry and Happy Christmas to all CROSSPORTERS and a welcome 2021.
If you have a minute (and power) you may want to listen to the Podcast of The God Minute for today. It is a show done annually by Perty Como for many years. It is worth the time IMHO...and was, for us, a good way to start Christmas Day.
