That has to be one of the worst fights I have ever seen on the field after a game. Announcers said that there may be criminal charges filed over what went on. See the video if you can. It is almost unbelievable. One player had his helmet ripped off and was kicked in the head.

Thanks for finding that video, hoops. I was disap[plointed that the MS coach said it was not a big deal sin ce it was a football game and he would not be "tearing any cloth over it." He said he was just upset over the loss of concentration by his team. (I did not see any comment from Tulsa.)
There had been some back and forth from before the game, but what on earth could have been said to provide such a total loss of control?

No assault charges yet, but somebody removed their mask which is a felony.

Seeing players stomp on an opponent and then run before he could get up makes me hope that cowardly jerk gets caught and the book thrown at him. There are so many extreme violations in the tape of the incident that there are too many to list. I hope the school presidents look at that video and then take serious action...including expulsion. If there is not meaningful punishment, their respective leagues should step in and start passing out serious punishment to the entire program. If nothing else, all of this makes me appreciate even more the rivalries we have in the PL. I thank God for such small favors.

Thank God Father Brooks steered us into the PL.

That doesn’t play well in so many places. As you said, hopefully they are told to keep right on running.

There is a truly troubling post game video on Instagram from the Miss State lockerroom of the wide receiver watching himself kick the Tulsa player in the head and crowing about his accomplishments. This guy should be banned from college football.

Glad HC isn't in FBS with a ceiling of playing Tulsa in a minor bowl every couple of decades. In FCS we have an outside (way outside, true) chance of playing for a national championship to complete the hat trick of baseball, basketball and football NCAA championships.

Thank God Father Brooks steered us into the PL. The worst football fight I've seen in person was at the end of a HC/Bucknell game, Jim Grady vs some Bison. Ended up out-of-bounds against the metal wall. Just sayin'.

#7 on Tulsa engaged more Miss. State players (in and out of uniform) during that melee that seemed humanly possible. Kept going from one to another, many of whom got in a good shot at the guy. At the end, he was swinging his helmet and finally let go of it.

Glad HC isn't in FBS with a ceiling of playing Tulsa in a minor bowl every couple of decades. In FCS we have an outside (way outside, true) chance of playing for a national championship to complete the hat trick of baseball, basketball and football NCAA championships. If the rumored G5/P5 split happens in the near future (I think it'll be more like P7 including AAC, MWC, ND,BYU + Army), you could possibly see the creation of three tiers of Division I football. This layout of 3 divisions could look roughly like this: Tier I: Big Ten, Pac 12, Big 12, ACC, SEC, AAC, MWC, Notre Dame/BYU/Army Tier II: Sun Belt, C-USA, MAC, Missouri Valley, Big Sky, CAA, WAC, New A-SUN, remaining FBS independents who would likely join one of these leagues, ex. Liberty, New Mexico State, UCONN, UMASS Tier III: Patriot, Ivy, NEC, Pioneer, Ohio Valley, Big South, SoCon, SWAC, MEAC, Southland Note that if you follow AGS board, there are a bunch of wild moving parts right now in the FCS world when it comes to conference affiliation. The Texas schools in the Southland are rumored to be heading to the upstart WAC conference which is re-starting DI football next year at the FCS level. In addition, the Atlantic Sun is trying to start a football conference (currently there is a setup where all ASUN members play in Big South) which could end up taking in the Southland's remaining strong programs like Central Arkansas, McNeese and SE Louisiana. Hence why I have the traditionally strong Southland as Tier III and 2 FCS conferences that don't yet exist as Tier II. MEAC might not be around in 3 years as well. In this Tier III setup, the Patriot League champ would have a much better chance of competing for a title than it does now.

Youre probably right. After all App State and Georgia Southern didnt spend all this $ to end up in what would effectively be the same level they were playing at in 1994. But of course, some "in the know" posters on AGS are adamant that this is taking place within 10 years. Well see.
