You have to respect what Butler is doing as the leader of this team. Guy flat out scraps he is to this team what Marcus Smart is to the Celtics. Gates looked great he plays that physical "bully ball" that is raw but fun to watch. Overall this team just looks tougher than last year. I have heard that Nelson is a lunatic but he certainly can gain more credibility if he is able to work with this freshman class and develop them over the years. Wade looked very solid playing his role and complementing other players.
I hope the locker room is more stable than it was last year but I am interested to see where this team can go. Optimistic after the first game. GO CROSS GO AND FEED THIS DUDE GATES! Onward and upward...

Interesting to me too that BU, with all their experience, was led by a kid who didn't even play as a frosh last year due to injury (Tate). He's good.

If the kids on campus have not complained about WIFI service over the years; then it's not the service. If they have, then it is.

Disappointing not to be able to hang on, but overall, a big improvement over last season...Seems like we ran out of gas with about 7 minutes left....No legs...missed 3 straight layups.... Overall, a lot of positives..Gates is more than a handful! RJ was pretty solid at the point...Bo and Bubba showed some flashes....Ryan hit a big 3...Faw stayed outof foul trouble...Austin looks really solid, he looks so much more fluid than the last few seasons shooting the ball (except free throws, but that will come)..I thought Coach Nelson had the team well prepared and he did a good job subbing around the media timeouts... I think the team has to keep attacking, pushing the ball and going to the rim..Overall the D was ok, it had it's moments....Have to do a better job on the D-boards, too many second chances....

We do not know if the source was HC or ESPN or the internet. ESPN is the provider. They are responsible. However, if the blame lays on the doorstep of HC. Message to Blossom & the BOT. No need to go big time. I do not know if HC is going cheap. However, if Athletics is going to do something, do it right. Do not cut corners. No excuses. I sincerely hope it was a one shot systemwide internet issue.I want to watch HC sports without interruption.

Those who think Stadium sucked and thought espn would be better don't get that it's a source issue: a combination of lousy HC equipment and horrendous Charter WiFi. How much would it cost to upgrade the equipment? Is there another option besides Charter for Wifi that would be better? Substantial six figure investment for a dedicated server room and all needed with it: cooling, wiring, etc. in the Hart. Will always be probs with any internet-based production to varying levels game to game emanating from the Hart until it's addressed. Don't count on HC making the investment to upgrade.

Overall I am impressed if we can play with them we can play with anybody in this league. Gates is a great addition. Watched games on Saturday and there was never a problem with ESPN plus. Whoever was running this games production. Go home. That was the most depressing part missing the action that we have waited months for!
Excited for tomorrow. It took BU some energy today to come back and we will see if they have it tomorrow. For the masks on, on is a strong word.
Hc playing with speed and an attitude.
Did we ever need a home radio broadcast more than today!

Observations:
1. Butler is a rock. 2. Gates plays a man's game underneath. He did get posted up a few times but appears to play decent defense. 3. Martindale played like a freshman. I wonder why he's starting. 4. Rabinovich looked lost, but it's way to early to judge him. 5. Montgomery, RJ, Townsel look talented. 6. Nelson can coach. 7. Rebounding is going to be an issue this year. That's a big problem. 8. We had some defensive lapses but a lot of good moments and great effort. 9. We look more athletic than last year. 10. It's interesting to speculate how big a difference Louth will make.

In the rebuilt Hart part of the complex, a video room was created adjacent to the Bud Ryan room. I assume this is a video control room. ____________
Spectrum Charter announced a fiber optic cable was damaged. Service now estimated to be restored by 6 PM. Internet, TV, and cell service affected throughout the city.

He didn’t play much after that and was wearing one of the black shoulder braces on his right arm when he came back. Hopefully it isn’t serious.

Tough loss but a lot to be encouraged about. -Gates is a monster -Butler looks much improved-Wade looks much improved -#1-2-3 backcourt combo of RJ-Bo-Bubba looks like they are going to be fun to watch for the next four years -Defense, toughness, and aggressiveness looks better than it has in the last 10 years We are in a very promising place for Game 1 of Year 2 in a complete gut rebuild. I am excited to see where we are for the Feb 21st finale vs BU. That feed was unacceptable. Someone from HC (Blossom, Bare, etc.) should address where the issue was (HC vs ESPN) and have it fixed by the next game. Wow.

Reality of it is HC controlled 75% of this game, just fell apart at the end. Having trouble closing is expected with so many young players. Loved how every BU run was answered with one of our own for the majority of the game, Felt like last year once the opposition scored a few buckets in a row the game was over. Defensively was light years better than last year and will only get better as the year and these kids careers go on. Very excited for tomorrow and the rest of the year.

Two of the three refs were two of the best in the country, Michael Stevens and John Gaffney. Gates should benefit from PL officials, who call it tighter inside.he will be on the line a lot.

How much would it cost to upgrade the equipment? Is there another option besides Charter for Wifi that would be better? The other option is a direct satellite uplink from the Hart, with the downlink to Bristol CT, then out on another uplink to the various Cable and ISP’s.

Butler benefitted from that....that and from another surgery (not a small point). He was great to watch today...and he is like having another coach out on the court. I wish I could have heard what he was saying.

Internet, TV, and cell service affected throughout the city. There is a new video control room next to the athletic apparel and merchandising room in the lobby. It was the old office next to the first concession booth before the remodel. You can see into the room, through a window that looks at the visiting teams bench. It is next to the West Stands under the Bud Ryan Room.
