As a resident of CT I'm speechless.

If I was UConn I'd put Chesney's number on speed dial. This move with Edsall makes no sense.

^ Uh- Ches is a smart guy. His next stop ain't gonna be Conn. Adding $900K to someone's salary goes pretty far.

True, but if he builds a consistent winner at HC and is a fixture in the top 25 the next few years, he should have better options than UConn. It’s almost an impossible job with no conference, no football tradition, nothing to draw athletes from other states and very little in-state talent. And almost no chance any of this will improve at any point in my lifetime.

^ Disagree. G5 head coach. Coach Chesney has a wife, and I believe, young children. I am sure that Chesney’s next move will need to weigh the current stability his family has enjoyed living consistently in the Worcester area. Of course, a huge payday will be be very enticing. Chesney doesn’t strike me as a mercenary who will be ready to uproot his family simply based upon where the money is the most optimal.

^ You're talking to the wrong guy, as I'm not the one who said Ches would jump at the chance for a big paycheck from an atrocious program.

For what it's worth, can we just enjoy a quality head coach while he is here? Let's not worry about Chesney's NEXT job...let's enjoy the ride while we are on it.

I'm sure he's an ambitious guy, but maybe Chesney is going to stay for a while. If you read these posts you'd think his current job was at East Snowshoe Community College making 25K.

Anyone who can get a new job and triple (or more) his income has to consider it. That said, let’s focus on what we have and enjoy it for as long as we have it.
