May his soul rest in peace with the thanks of every Crusader for all he did for our Alma Mater.

May his soul rest in peace with the thanks of every Crusader for all he did for our Alma Mater. Well said. And, like many of our benefactors, J.D. Power served our nation in the U.S. military.

RIP Mr. Powers from one former paperboy to another. I can still make change and add and subtract in my head from collecting from customers, which has saved me from being overcharged hundreds in penny increments over the years (and earned a few glares🙂). I just wish I read your report BEFORE I bought the Yugo.😪

It seems that I can't read a news article about marketing or sales or consumer quality without seeing the name "JD Power and Associates". He was a pioneer, and his brand is incredibly well known! For this reason, I am quite surprised that I have not seen more in the media about his passing. Specifically, I thought that I would see obits or articles in the New York Times or Wall Street Journal.

The WSJ finally publishes an obit in its weekend edition. The paper version is a very truncated version of the online one, which notes that "He majored in English at College of the Holy Cross, a Jesuit institution in Worcester, and graduated in 1953. Also mentioned is the family's $3mm gift to establish the J.D. Power Center.
