AU is a university not a college. I am unclear if the PL prohibits grad students from playing varsity sports or if it is a prohibition of grad transfers but in a city as bustling of DC the intern and other creative options are there to keep these five players busy during their fifth year whether they are categorized as undergraduate or graduate students.

It will be a mess trying to figure out their scholarship situation two years from now.

Better their mess than HC's.

I assume you mean the 9 on the men's side in the youngest two classes; not the ladies?
I do feel like the AU kids deserve it only playing 10 games this year.

No, I meant the ladies. If all five seniors next year stick around for an extra year and take 5 scholarships with them, I assume that there will be none left for incoming freshmen. Disclaimer: I am far from being an expert in the Byzantine rules of college basketball.

I think there's only 4 (Demski, Avery, Ezemma, Petro)...but I get your point. Do not believe HC has to offer all of them another year, but, like you, am far from an expert.

No, Tim, my comment was in reference to a previous comment that 5 juniors on AU's women's team had committed to staying with the team for 2 more years.

LU 31-BU 29 at the half - after leading by as much as 12, LU goes ice cold the last 5 mins of the half , BU not much better but finish on an 11-1 run including a looong 3 at the buzzer.

Very frustrating.

Is that the Italian "ch" like in chianti and Bruschi and bruschetta. To your point, I admire Bucknell for sticking to their rules. Plus, it screws up recruiting.

Where does it say they are taking the 5th year at American? They could want to play up a level.

Bfoley; it says this in the article: "their AU careers are extended through two more seasons." That is what the student writer says... Here is the EXACT quote "After the game, Gebbia said that the junior class would take the extra year of eligibility that the NCAA offered, which means their AU careers are extended through two more seasons." That first part doesn't mean the second will happen. American coaches could leave, players get better offers for a fifth year, etc...

They just might get sick of basketball, too. But when the coach spoke, she at least thought all five would remain for two more years. I agree that that is extremely unlikely to happen
