It would be helpful to have him healthy and mobile for a full five seasons. (With the Covid bonus year a current freshman would only have to take one Spring semester off, right?). I'm sure the coaches will try to balance his game between passes and runs.

I doubt HC will be offering the extra year to frosh - he'll be a soph on this fall's roster with 3 years left to play - if the kid coming in from Tampa Jesuit is as good as advertised, the staff has to feel good about our qb position.

That's reasonable because if we get to the FCS playoffs this season, using a full year of eligibility is well worth it.

Several other notes/observations.
Announcers revealed that the HC OC missed the Lehigh game because he was in quarantine in a Worcester? hotel. Possibly the same hotel HC has leased to isolate and quarantine students.
CD made little (or no) progress as a QB from where he was 18 months ago. Tentative in his execution.
Very vanilla pass rush. Shouldn't have LBs covering wide receivers. Pass coverage was often too soft for my taste. Too many big missed tackles.
Dante Bolden, good instincts and really quick to the ball for a freshman LB.
Dobbs in a Power 5 Conference would be all-conference. Believe he had 15 tackles today.

I had Bucknell to be contrary. Colgate must really be bad as Laffy beat them. Based on today Sluka can play whether it's at QB or not. Get him the ball in space.
Just finished watching the game after being out most of the day. Great to see Sluka bring something very different to the offense. Defense settled in after a rough start but the pass defense, including the pass rush, could use some work. Fordham has the best passing QB in the league so we should have an easier time the next couple of games. We obviously have the best rushing QB.

Jack Lentz ran for 173 yards versus Richmond in 1964--will have to scan the list to see if Pujals or another QB has ever run for more. Whoever has the record I hope it will fall to Sluka before too long
Definitely saw some injuries today. Kane and Blessing appeared to be more serious. I think Sean Morris also hobbled off late in the game after a Sluka first down run on 3rd and 7. Hope all of them are okay.
Did you see Jack play ? Jack’s speed was good enough to play safety for Denver.
Teams in Jack's era didn't have the team speed of today.
Lentz played against a higher level of competition, to be sure, but his best year rushing was 802 yards on 146 attempts, average of 5.5 yards a carry.
I thought Slika on his 55 yard scamper would be caught by the 10 yard line. Come the fall season, he won't be the surprise package that he was today.
You did not answer the question. I will take that as a No. The first clause of your second sentence explained why your first sentence proved little. Not sure what you were trying to prove with the second part of your second sentence..
