If the championship game does get blown up due to Covid would there be any chance of the Division winner who is not chosen for the auto bid, receiving an at large bid? I imagine the more teams who are knocked out due to Covid the higher the chances.

The pL is never getting an at-large bid in any sport regardless the circumstances.

The pL is never getting an at-large bid in any sport regardless the circumstances. It's had football at-large bids, as recent as 2015. Ironically, when the league was non-scholarship, there were a handful of years of sending multiple teams to the playoffs.

Holy Cross is now up to 28 positive cases this week, nine on the 7th, ten on the 8th. If the positive rate doesn't taper down soon, I expect that the college will remain on orange alert, and if the Bucknell game is @ home, no fans in the stands under an orange alert. These cases appear to be infections acquired while students were away from Worcester over Easter 'break' and given low quarantine numbers, suggests there is limited contagion spread on campus. Time will tell.

Hearing a rumor that the Men’s LAX team had a party which is being traced as the source of several of the recent positive COVID tests.

^ I know Chesney hasn’t hesitated to suspend players who have been identified as having attended parties in violation of COVID protocols. If this is true the LAX coach will hopefully do the same.

Self-inflicted wound.

Put the football team in a bubble in a hotel ASAP. My understanding is that the football team is reverting to only online meetings until Tuesday to curb the recent COVID spike on campus. Probably a good idea to hopefully limit transmission.

Campus is in lockdown until at least Wednesday. PL Championship in real jeopardy:
Due to a significant increase in COVID cases, we are prohibiting all in-person activities beginning today at 6 p.m. until at least Wednesday. • All students must be tested Monday or Tuesday. • Staff should continue to report to work as scheduled. Employees who can work remotely should not come to campus.

If the Championship game was this weekend the lockdown might have kiboshed it. Maybe we will luck out.

This latest development definitely not going to help us get more fans being allowed to attend the title game if it happens.

How about a road trip to Florida for the big game? A return trip to the Orange Bowl would be nice.

www.nbcboston.com/news/coronavirus/covid-19-cluster-cancels-in-person-classes-at-holy-cross/2351325/Interviews with students. College says the infections result more from students gathering in larger groups in Worcester rather than from students returning to campus, infected, after Easter break. Students living off-campus can only come on campus to be tested. The first, second, and third priority of the college is to get to an-person commencement on May 21. Commencement was actually moved up a week to minimize students becoming infected pre-Commencement a consequence of their sojourns to the Cape.

Holy Cross has said in the past if the isolation/quarantine capacity dropped to near zero, the college would close the campus and send everyone home. There is some capacity in Loyola, but that may be for short-term quarantine only.

Do you know if these are rapid or molecular/PCR test results? I know BU and others have Molecular and can do over 1k per run on each machine and get the results in 4-6 hours
