Probably the correct way.
Thanks. Impressive stadium. The SDSU program shows what maxed out FCS football looks like. Preferable to the low FBS existence UMass and UConn are enduring, imo. I agree that the higher level FCS is preferable. But Fitton has more seats. If HC is able to win and play Weber State there stadium with the mountain backdrop looks amazing. Except its in Ogden, Utah

Finally able to post, Jacks fan here. Looking forward to having your team in Brookings this Saturday.
A few things to note...Brookings is about 23,000 pop, home to SDSU and quite a bit of manufacturing. Notably Larson Storm Doors is based here as well as Daktronics. Yes, that Daktronics that will add to your gameday experience at Fitton field sometime in the future. Daktronics is known all over the world as the leader in that field...check out Atlanta’s dome and the halo video ring.
We are fortunate to have some of the best facilities in the FCS. This has helped tremendously with recruiting.
The strength of the team really is in the trenches on both sides. D-line, “chaingang” will play 9-10 guys without much drop off between talent. The o-line is a mix of youth and experience but all are pretty big.
Skill positions are young but talented. Our true Fr qb is up for the Jerry Rice award like you’re an Sluka. Gronowski has made a name for himself running but can throw well too. His deep passes are quite impressive. It may look like the offense is all run but I think that’s because it’s worked so well. Pierre Strong Jr at RB is up for the Payton award and Davis(true freshman) has played well too. Our TEs are probably the deepest and most athletic position we have. The WRs are young but very good with size and speed.
Defensively the LBs are a mix of veterans and youth. #12 Backhaus is the leader there. CBs have a tendency to get penalized but all in all are pretty solid. The safety group goes 4-5 deep with lots of talent as well.
Short snapshot of our team, looking forward to the game!. Anyone have any questions s feel free to DM me.

It’s a pleasure to be here. Lots of good banter...you’re all welcome for Vinatieri ...btw, in college he was a waaaay better punter than kicker. Also of note, cookies and cream ice cream invented at SDSU.

What's the best way to get to SDSU from the East Coast Jacked? Probably a flight into Sioux Falls and 60 mile drive north which at 80mph is only 45-50 min. Minneapolis is about a 4 1/2 hour drive but doable. , here’s a video to counter the rabbit stew and such vids

Apologies for the delay, but experience says the forum is better off with approved accounts. The downside is I have a real job and other parts of my life so sometimes it takes time. Roughly 24 hours is not bad for me. Will check each evening this week to try to keep up with new registrations - especially SDSU posters who likely will only want to post here for a week or so. If you wouldn't mind letting folks on your board know that I'll be reviewing and approving accounts nightly to, hopefully, minimize the wait. Once again, welcome and Chu Chu Rah Rah! Go Cross!

Welcome, jackedforlife. Always good to have some perspective from behind enemy lines. Tall task for our young men but they’ll give it everything they have for 60 minutes. Good luck to you and your team.

Would love to see an out of conference set of games between the teams. If you have espn+ you can probably watch 2-3 of our spring games. The southern Illinois game was pretty dominant. The NDSU game shows the strength in the trenches. The UND game shows that mistakes and penalties will cause a trip up but essentially we were in that game for the most part. The Jacks has come a long way since then.

Massey makes SDSU a 22 point favorite (13-35) and gives them a 95% chance for the win at their field. Heck, HC does have a 5% chance for an upset and we have nothing to lose. Go for it! Well, the Massey spread is "down" to 21. He has SDSU favored 31-10 but still has them as having a 95% chance for the win. GO CROSS.

Also most of us wouldn’t be surprised if it was close nor shocked if HC were to win. Scrambling/running QBs have caused issues in the past and the hybrid D could slow us down.

Good Morning All, Thought I’d reestablish an account and hop back on since its been a while (~2006-2009 since I last posted), especially as it relates to this week’s game as I’ve been traveling to Sioux Falls,SD on business for 12 years, have several clients that are SDSU alums and one that played football there ~99-01’. I’m an HC football alum, been based in the Midwest for work since 2009 and part of the Gridiron Club, 90-wide program etc. I’m so encouraged by the investments made into this program, the quality of kids (both as players and people), coaches, administration, facilities etc. So a couple things about this week. I’m driving up with a crew of supportive friends Saturday morning. I spoke to the SDSU ticket office yesterday and reserved a “pod” (row) of seats (I believe you can reserve up to 8 or 10.) For those flying in, Sioux Falls Regional is the way to go (although at times it can be pricey depending upon where you’re flying in from. Most likely layover is Chicago or Minneapolis) While capacity is 4K for the game (same as SDSU has set all year even though NCAA sets guidelines for playoff games), the ticket office said they’ve had between 2,800-3,000 at most home games this season because folks will reserve a “pod” of 8 seats but only use 5-6. Said they might get over 3k this week with good weather. I have some thoughts on the game which I will share in a separate post. Any plans for an HC tailgate for those attending?? I know the drive from Chicago is only 6 hours (same as it is here from KC) Hopefully the HC Chicago contingent will have a good showing. Let’s go Purp!

For those interested in COVID test results, two positives reported for Monday, and four positives reported for today. The four positives reported today were almost certainly of individuals tested on Monday. The two positives reported for Monday were probably of individuals tested early on Monday, with HC receiving results before midnight Monday. HC does not test at The Jo on Sunday; HC may test at the Hotel Quarantine on Sunday.
Over 1500 tests reported for yesterday and today.
HC now reports positive tests for those students who are tested by a third party. However, I doubt any athletes would be in this group.

Softball just got shutdown for COVID.

Is SDSU limiting attendance? If not, surprising, with such a good team, that it is only averaging 2800-3000 per home game.
