Fairfield released their ooc today - our date is Wednesday Dec 8th at Webster Bank Arena (Bridgeport) When was the last time we had a weekend game in the NYC area ? I think Iona was a Sunday awhile back but I do not like the lack of success in getting a game that alums around here can get to on a weekend. Anyone know the status of Fairfield’s planned 3500 seat convocation center? I think it was originally supposed to open in 2021 but Covid messed that up. The most recent plan was to tear down Alumni Hall following the 2020-21 season, which happened, and then begin construction of the new arena on the same site. As far as I know it is on schedule to open in November 2022 for that season. The plan continues to be for Fairfield to play all home games in Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport in front of a few friends and family.

They have a webcam of the project - the old Alumni Hall was knocked down in May - I would imagine it’s going to be tough to be ready for Nov ‘22

Sometimes I think the schedule's designed so the fewest people possible can attend games. And, if that fails, they throw a pandemic at us. Well Fairfield isn't the number 1 tenant in their rink so they likely can't get a weekend date for a home game in December. They probably will use the weekends when the conference schedule starts or if Providence or someone wants to go in there again.

Speaking of Fairfield, the Sacred Heart schedule is out and we won’t be playing them. Same can be said for URI unless they add a thirty first game and it is us.

While being offered the "opportunity" to renew my basketball season tickets, just on principle I am holding off until I see what the schedule is. You know, like who are they playing and when. Nice to know what you are buying when you plunk down your money. Or is that being "old-fashioned?" Of course with the potential rush to get season tickets, you might lose out on your chair back overlooking the Sec 8 fanatics

I remember a home game vs Princeton during the Willard era that was held during a bonafide blizzard, I mean drive 15 mph and get out and scrape your windshield blizzard. I recall it as a fabulous game that Princeton eked out with a surprisingly decent crowd. If you have a winning team playing a quality opponent, fans will come. Since we don't have a winning team right now, all efforts should be made to schedule games to help fans to attend easily. I was there too

No heart ache not playing Sacred Heart. Not an exciting match up for me, even with a former Crusader. URI is a nice potential opponent. Maybe 22-23

Who is the"former Crusader" at Sacred Heart? Joey Reilly Sacred Heart was about as much of a regular opponent as Harvard during this century. Most interested in seeing the final schedule.

I was there too Are you referring to the December 23, 2000 game against Princeton? I was there also. Princeton unfortunately won, 47-46 Funny story, just before leaving for the Hart Center, I was watching the replay of the Stanford/Duke basketball game, held the night before in Oakland CA, at the Pete Newell Classic. The game was won by Stanford 84/83. Jason William missed a layup to win as time expired. After the HC/Princeton game was over, the crowd was milling around on the floor talking to the players and other fans. My son cam over and told me he had just had a conversation with Jason Williams. I looked at him and said, which Jason (Jay) Williams? He replied, Jason Williams, the Duke Basketball player. Jay Williams, was a close friend and former teammate of Brian Wilson, and had taken a red eye out of Oakland to Boston immediately after the Stanford / Duke game, to see the HC / Princeton game. Princeton at the time was coached by JTIII. That’s what I call friendship. It was a real shame how Jay Williams NBA career ended.

Ivy board reporting HC at Harvard 12/19/21. Glad to hear that series will continue. It should be penciled in as a yearly game.

Still no sign of any A10 games on the D1 docket site although LaSalle and St. Joe’s still have 5-6 games to add. Schools like Fordham, URI and UMass look like their schedules are complete.

Under Q&A on the web site
Will fans be able to attend games at the Hart Center this winter? Due to state guidelines and College policies, at this time, fans will not be permitted to attend games at the Hart Center this winter. Fans can still be an integral part of the action by joining the Cutout Cru and watching games on our ESPN+, FloHockey and CBS All-Access platforms.

I assume it means Winter '20-21, would have been nice to say that, just to be clear

URI has not yet officially announced their schedule but it appears that possibly all but one OOC game is known.
The 12 OOC games for URI that seem set are:
Bryant Brown Boston University
Sacred Heart Boston College @ Providence @ Harvard @ Seton Hall @ Florida Gulf Coast vs Tulsa (Daytona Beach)
vs Utah or BC (Daytona Beach)
vs Charleston (Washington DC)

Speaking of the state of RI, Brown’s skied is out. Games against Salve Regina and Johnson and Wales but not HC.

One optimistic interpretation: Just a very small sign of progress for us. Brown is scheduling some games they have a very high probability of winning. Maybe they think they have a better chance of beating Salve & J&W than the Crusaders? And, of course, both are local teams for them.

Salve and J+W may also not have as many fans who actually cheer for their team and players (thus upsetting some silent Brown fans).

The renown culinary arts dept. at Johnson and Wales will prepare a giant creampuff to be presented to Brown.
