I don't disagree with your comment-at least in theory, and confidence is critical for players and teams,
But
Is the objective to have a good overall record or win the league?
Are you playing for a single season result or developing a winning culture that is sustainable over time?
Talented players want to compete against the best, so to attract and retain talent does the schedule need to be at a different level?
In 3 years Is 24-7 with the current schedule and a top 2-3 finish in the PL preferred over 18-13 and a 1/2 finish in the PL?
Does Proper Preparation Prevent Poor Performance?
Anyway just some thoughts and I know we are light years away from any of this, but a Sunday night always allows for a fresh look at the week ahead.

How about within 2 years actually winning the PL with at least 20 - 22 wins?
The focus HC gives to men’s basketball and football needs to have significantly better results in basketball and slightly better results (post season) in football.

It's been over 20 years since basketball scholarships were being considered for reinstatement, when that was happening there was much anticipation of ooc games that have never really materialized. When such games are available in today's environment, you have to grab them.

I don't think teams HC used to play a long time ago are beating on the HC door for games. Speaking of things that never materialized, there was a lot of enthusiasm for the future of HC hoops, 40 plus years ago when the City of Worcester voted to fund construction of a civic center. That dissipated in short order.

Associate PL members Fordham and Georgetown have one game between them against a PL foe. GU plays American. That is just not right. IMO, the two of them should play 2 PL opponents every year as part of the deal for giving their football programs a place to call home. GU is known for scheduling their share of Non Conference cupcakes and Fordham is Fordham. Enough said on the latter. This is ridiculous.

While being offered the "opportunity" to renew my basketball season tickets, just on principle I am holding off until I see what the schedule is. You know, like who are they playing and when. Nice to know what you are buying when you plunk down your money. Or is that being "old-fashioned?"

I ordered my tickets on July 20th and was told that the schedule would be released within a week. Seems like the business office has no clue.

How many PL schools have announced their final schedules? Are we the only holdout?

Maybe a planned game with Assumption has been delayed because the Hounds want a home and home......

Fairfield released their ooc today - our date is Wednesday Dec 8th at Webster Bank Arena (Bridgeport) When was the last time we had a weekend game in the NYC area ? I think Iona was a Sunday awhile back but I do not like the lack of success in getting a game that alums around here can get to on a weekend.

Sometimes I think the schedule's designed so the fewest people possible can attend games. And, if that fails, they throw a pandemic at us.

I remember a home game vs Princeton during the Willard era that was held during a bonafide blizzard, I mean drive 15 mph and get out and scrape your windshield blizzard. I recall it as a fabulous game that Princeton eked out with a surprisingly decent crowd. If you have a winning team playing a quality opponent, fans will come. Since we don't have a winning team right now, all efforts should be made to schedule games to help fans to attend easily.

Anyone know the status of Fairfield’s planned 3500 seat convocation center? I think it was originally supposed to open in 2021 but Covid messed that up.
