May the soul of Dick Tubbs rest in peace with the Lord he served so well throughout his life and as a Presbyterian Minister.

When I read of Dick's passing, the image of him as our Drum Major of the Crusader Marching Band flashed in my mind's eye. He was a very special guy, beloved by many of his classmates. May the Lord hold his him in His loving embrace for an eternity.

I was very sorry to hear about Dick. I roomed with him sophomore year and was an usher at his wedding in September '67. Mention of him having been a drum major reminded me that in an effort to increase the band's small numbers, he once had a non-musical friend wear a band uniform, march, and pretend to play an instrument.

Disappointed to learn the cardboard cut outs in the Hart Center this season were not an original idea.
