Jared Goff played the first two series. His second pass of the game was to Kalif. I think it’s probably a positive that Kalif saw limited first quarter action.
Goff played 22 snaps in the first two series. Kalif and #1 receiver Tyrell Williams each played 20 of those snaps. Kalif played no special teams snaps.

Two injured WRs (Perriman and Cephus) returned to practice yesterday but Kalif still ran with the 1s.
“Though both players were a welcome return to the offense, it’s worth noting that both may have to work their way back up the depth chart. Many of Perriman’s reps were with the second team on Monday, with Kalif Raymond taking the majority of WR2 snaps opposite Tyrell (Tyrell) Williams.”

From the Lions’ official website:
6. Top four receivers have established themselves Tyrell Williams, Breshad Perriman, Kalif Raymond and Amon-Ra St. Brown have consistently been the first four receivers up with the first-team offense all camp. Where it gets interesting is when we start to talk about the fifth receiver. Second-year receiver Quintez Cephus has been steady, and looks to have the edge, but there's still time with two preseason games remaining for someone else to also put their hat in the ring.

From The Athletic:
4. Scene from after practice, most guys in the locker room: Kalif Raymond working inside/outside releases against Mike Ford and Bobby Price, then explaining to them why he broke off his route the direction he did. There's been a lot of that in camp -- players teaching players.

From SI.com:
WR Kalif Raymond Raymond has established a reputation for being a hard-worker in practice. Earlier in training camp, he was spotted by multiple media members getting some extra work in with the JUGS machine after practice. He's also received a pretty steady dose of targets from Goff so far in practice, and was on the field for 20 of the team's offensive snaps during Friday's preseason contest with Buffalo. That number was the same as the snap count for Tyrell Williams, who is expected to be the Lions' No. 1 receiver in 2021. It's a good sign for Raymond's job security, and it's a reason to believe that his stock is on the rise.

Keep the good news coming, '92! Things can always change but he’s in good shape right now both to make the team and to have a regular role in the offense.

Thanks for the update on Kalif. When I did not see him on the field, I was concerned.

Funny how when a player doesn’t get in a pre-season game it can mean one of two diametrically different things:
1. No chance he’s making the team or 2. He’s a lock on making the team and the coaches want to ensure he doesn’t get hurt before the season starts.

From an Oakland Press article on 8 positive takeaways from Lions’ camp:
WR KALIF RAYMOND IS PROVING IT DAILY
Raymond has embodied everything the new coaching is looking for. He has been the most reliable and consistent wideout at training camp.
“He could be a trinket guy for us, do some different things maybe out of the backfield. But he’s also a returner. He just goes to work every day,” Campbell said. “Every day he’s nonstop. You look up there and he’s blocking guys in the run game, throwing his body around. He’s competitive as hell. He’s another — I’m glad we got him. Glad we got him.”

USA Today Lions Roster Projection:
Starters: Tyrell Williams, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Kalif Raymond
Reserves: Quintez Cephus, Tom Kennedy
I’m very certain about the first four, Williams through Cephus. Any questions about Cephus’ status were erased with his strong first half in the preseason finale.
That fifth spot though…
Kennedy barely played against the Colts. My take on it, and it’s strictly an educated guess: Campbell gave Breshad Perriman, Geronimo Allison, Javon McKinley and Victor Bolden chances to prove they deserved to knock Kennedy out. None did, though it wouldn’t shock me if Allison earns the nod after coming on late in camp. I believe Perriman’s two drops vs. the Colts ended any chance he had of making it.
This is the position where the Lions are most likely to make changes after the initial roster cutdowns.

The Athletic on Wednesday
St. Brown and Raymond are roster locks. The rest is a nod to how unsettled the wide receiver competition remains, mere days before the Lions have to decide on an initial 53-man roster.

Fantastic news for Kalif. Will this be the year that he breaks out with multiple targets and catches each game? The Lions threw 582 times last year versus the 381 for the run-focused Titans. So Kalif should have a bigger role on a team that throws a whole lot more

That said, Kalif is definitely poised for a bigger role in this offense than he had in the Titans offense.

I have one share of Raymond in fantasy this year as a bench player and $1 auction flier. I'm hoping that he becomes my go-to Draft Kings weekly steal. Easy money.

Depth chart has him starting. I think that's obvious at this point with that roster. I'll bet they have to throw a lot, and Goff is Captain Pass Wacky when he needs to be.

From The Athletic
11. Read into this however you want, but Kalif Raymond easily was among the Lions’ best players throughout training camp. He gave Detroit’s cornerbacks fits with his shifty routes from the slot, even in the red zone. He’s also going to get some looks outside, making for an interesting matchup at 5-foot-8, 182 pounds

Preparing for my fantasy draft. Kalif projected to score 5.1 pts by ESPN for my 1/2 PPR league. I will obviously be drafting him no matter what.

I hope he proves the biggest steal in a FFL draft since I got Randy Moss in a late round his rookie season
