He's gone and did squat at HC. True that he is gone and I'll meet you part way and say he was a bit of a disappointment. Since his father was a little behind me at HC, I was interested from the moment his name came up on Breezy's lists and wanted him to do well. It didn't work out exactly right, but he earned a degree and is getting to play at what may well be the right level for him and get an MBA. I am happy to follow all of these guys who are getting some extra time due to Covid. None of these guys left under anything but positive circumstances. Hope they do well.

His father should be proud. And I hope Sluka breaks that championship record with four or five.

Re: Joe Lang-- the FSU roster lists him as a redshirt senior. Did he graduate from HC? Yes he did. I think that's FSU's typology for fifth year players. From his FSU profile: Seems to have played in only one game as a freshman.

He's gone and did squat at HC. How is being second team all-PL and winning a PL title "doing squat?"

One cannot forget the contributions of Dr. Jeff Wiley and Tom Ciaccio. “Ciaccio brought home numerous honors during his collegiate career, being selected as the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year in 1990, then earning first team All-America honors in 1991. He also received the 1991 George H. "Bulger" Lowe Award as the most outstanding player in New England, and was selected as the 1991 ECAC Player of the Year. Ciaccio directed Holy Cross teams which won two Patriot League championships, with the 1991 squad posting a perfect 11-0 record and finishing the season ranked No. 3 in the nation.” goholycross.com/news/2014/9/27/210200641.aspx

Looks like you found another QB who "did squat" at HC.

We'll never know, but always believe those teams could have won one or more FCS national championships.

Bowler had a good game Saturday playing in multiple situations in Richmond's win Saturday. Lang is on all 4 STs not FG units. The atmosphere at FSU was 100% unbelievable.

They both have two championship seasons.😁 It’s amazing how often our athletic department gets easy historical facts wrong. Happens all the time. In this case, we won PL titles in 1989, 1990 and 1991 with a Ciaccio at QB. In fact, we didn’t lose a PL game (or any 1AA game) over those three years.

That wasn't the athletic department, that was my myopia. I wasn't thinking that the Duffner era was during the PL, but of course it was. That's why we couldn't go to the NCAA playoffs like we did under Coach Carter.

Just to button up on our 3 guys from Week 1: As noted, Joe Lang started on ALL FOUR core Special Teams (kickoff, kick return, punt and punt return) He didn’t get a chance to make many plays because both kickers and punters were very good so lots of fair catches throughout the game. WE should be VERY PROUD of Joe. Most ST’s usually consists of 5-6 starters and 5-6 top reserves. Joe obviously came into camp and turned heads with his attitude, toughness and skills! Great for him to build these life-long memories. Maybe he gets a chance to play some Strong Safety if FSU can win in a couple blowouts. Looked like JACK BOWLER got a good amount of PT for Richmond at RG against Howard and not just in garbage time. He played in a couple series in the first half and the second. He’s clearly rotating with the #1 RG. BRIAN FOLEY is not on the Participation List in the Duke v Charlotte game. These are not always accurate but it would appear Brian DNP in the game.

I know the title of this thread is Bowler/Foley/Lang
In addition, Degenhardt had a great 1st day in a win - I know it didn't work out perfectly here for him, but am happy for him. Considine - as HC92 wrote he was 18/33 in a win for Saginaw Valley State. Kendrick Knight had 3 tackles in an opening loss for Limestone.

For whomever is tracking Grads:
New Haven is playing Bentley this Saturday at 1PM in New Haven. Bentley is 8-0 and New Haven is 7-1. Degenhardt has thrown for 14 TDs this year against 3 picks and has rushed for 9 TD's. He's having quite a season. Both hoping to get into the D2 NCAA Playoffs.

Neither Bowler (Richmond) nor Foley (Duke) have been significant contributors on sub par teams - but a very nice grad year benefit thanks to the pandemic

Foley not so much as the #3 LG at Duke. Joe Lang was the “special teams warrior” at FSU and looks to have played his last collegiate game at BC yesterday. He injured his shoulder during the game and was in a sling afterward. Still seemed very upbeat on social media after the game.
